Red would not fit into the mindset at DU or at the Kos well.
We have many former FReepers here who do not remotely resemble the mindsets they once celebrated at JimRob's little shop of horrors.
The Free Republic has become a tool for hire to use to try to spin the public's mindset on candidates and issues instead of a forum to promote conservative thought.
I expect it to continue to not evolving and to keep on driving people away until their Internet market share drops down below the threshold of being a valuable property to hire. Without being bought off, there is no way they could get enough people to support that high a financial target for their four snookerthons they hold a year.
With a screen name like "Red", are you more of DailyKos kinda guy? Or the DemonRAT-Underground
No Mud. I picked that pen-name for myself in 1986 believe it or not. and I picked it out of the air, not because of some baseball player or jazz musician or communist sentiment. I'm just smart enough not to sign my own name when I write a letter to the editor.
and Ferret says I wouldn't fit in at Kos or DU. can't find a better witness than Ferret.
Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
yes that's true. and I used same screen name at FR. and I was banned almost 3 years before Mud was banned which means I am far higher on the totem pole.
I won't fit in at Kos or DU?!@?%! oh well I am a conservative at heart. but i have learned that the left-right paradigm is of no value.
and I like to think that I was the same though less experienced years ago at FR compared to today. Even JimRob at one time did speak against the Republicans & george bush remember. It was he and FR that changed more, not so much we who were kicked out.
and it is just as you said, FR was bought out or most likely bought out and intimidated with something negative. all of us who are veterans of FR know that.
Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS." ~ Mahatma Ghandi
Mud is an Israeli firster... no.. he is an Israeli only person. He thinks the attack on the USS Liberty was a good thing and appropriate. I think he is the son of the other atheist Ashkenazi on LP - pagan.. errr magician.

"Revelation 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan."
Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
"Finally, a young balladeer--who came to be known as Mudboy Slim--joined the Great Crusade against Slick Willie! This young Patriot combined the optimism of Reagan with the wisdom of the Maja Rushi. Mudboy and the Syntaurs vocalized many great folk songs that enlivened the Masses, causing the corrupt, Lib'ral spell to be broken and Billzabubba and his Lib'ral apologists to be vanquished from Power!!
Thus, there dawned a great new Libertarian Era of ever-shrinking governmental authority and an ever-expanding emphasis on Individual Liberty and Personal Responsibility. Herein are compiled but a few of those songs that have been passed down through the Ages, The Ballads of Mudboy Slim...

Good to know, Red...
"...and Ferret says I wouldn't fit in at Kos or DU. can't find a better witness than Ferret."
Great...I apologize for jumping to the wrong inference...MUD

We'll haveta agree to disagree on that last little statement, Mr. Jones, the Left/Right paradigm is more applicable than ever. Either you want a bigger Federal Leviathan in the future (aka TheLeft)...or else you want a smaller Federal Leviathan (aka TheRight). It's one or the other...not both.

now Mr. Mud - if you want to live in a dream-world that is OK. During the 1990's the congress was ruled by Democrats during the first 5 years and by the Republicans in the 2'nd 5 years. and the growth rate of the government was slightly higher under republicans than under democrats. and that was when the defense spending was held down to 300 billion a year. Then after 2001 the defense spending has multipled up to 800 billion a year when you count the war- spending. Both GW Bush & GHW Bush proved to be very much fans of big- government.
Perhaps you are a Ron Paul supporter then. as he's the only major figure who wants to reduce government.
Revelation 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Why do you let him control you mind? Couldn't you find a more appealing homosexual drug addict to use as a role model? How about Michael Jackson? At least he can sing.
Do you sneak into third world countries famous for underage homosexual prostitution with a huge bottle of viagra? Rush does.
Does Bush and the Jeff Gannon thing excite you too? Is that why you voted for the guy twice? Do you think Matt Drudge is cute? And why did Ann Coulter never get married? How do you Republicans reproduce?
