When pressed if the dramatic internal polling numbers could somehow be flawed in a state as demographically complex as Pennsylvania, and with new voter registration surging to unseen levels, the campaign insider held firm.

Drudge is spinning it as though the sort of Clinton victory that was expected in PA a couple of weeks ago would be great for Hillary. Once more, as with Limbaugh, Hannity, and the press organs of Murdoch, Scaife, and the Rev. Moon, the right wing spins hard for Hillary.
If Hillary were black and Obama white, the O'philes here would be wearing Clinton buttons and spinning the 90s. For the guilters, it's about race and absolving imagined injustice.
I know you don't believe us when we tell you you're wrong. I guess people whose thinking is all based on race find it impossible to imagine that that's not true of everybody.

I have come to the conclusion that it is the white half of Obummer that is slickering the white guilters. Guilt laden people are easy marks as they grovel without being told.

These authors noted that race-related guilt is a prevalent emotion for White people. In her extensive work on racial identity development, Helms (1993, 1995) described the emotion of guilt as an aspect of the process by which Whites come to abandon racist attitudes and behaviors. According to Helms, White people begin to recognize the moral dilemma of being White. They appreciate and enjoy its privileges, but realize those privileges are not extended to all people, and in particular are denied (overtly and covertly) to those who are not White. Howard noted that guilt comes as a result of cognitive dissonance, "conflicting realities that do not fit together easily in our conscious awareness" (p. 38). Tatum (1994) noted that the failure of our educational systems to highlight White role models who work to eliminate racism adds to the general negative feelings and specifically guilt feelings many White people feel in regard to their race.
Cognitive dissonance is a psychological state that describes the uncomfortable feeling when a person begins to understand that something the person believes to be true is, in fact, not true. Similar to ambivalence, the term cognitive dissonance describes conflicting thoughts or beliefs (cognitions) that occur at the same time, or when engaged in behaviors that conflict with one's beliefs. In academic literature, the term refers to attempts to reduce the discomfort of conflicting thoughts, by performing actions that are opposite to one's beliefs.
