I have no use for Fidel Castro or his degenerate ideology, but the citizens of a (supposedly) free country should have the right to travel wherever they damn well please. If I want to spend my vacation in Cuba, Iran, or anywhere else, I should have the right to do so.

Ahhhh. So they get around the constitutionality of travel controls by implementing currency controls. So if you were to go to Cuba, they don't arrest you for traveling there, they arrest you for using US currency to pay for the hotel you stay at, the food you eat, or the taxi's you take.

So what ikf you were to exchange that currency for another currency and use THAT, like Canadian Dollars or Mexican Pesos. Hmmm. They'd get you for somethinmg I'm sure.

Well then, this seems to open up a whole other can of worms as far as constitutionality.

Actually, I did a little more research on the Congressional Research Service site, and it appears that restrictions on the travel of US citizens started in 1926 or so with a State Department rule on passport control.

Ahh. OK, so like most other governmental abuses, this one started in the early 20th century. That's just peachy. Thank's for the research by the way. I wouldn't have known where to begin.
