WASHINGTON — One of President Nixon’s daughters, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, apparently supports a Democrat in this year’s presidential contest — Barack Obama. Eisenhower has contributed the maximum amount allowed during the primary season to Obama’s campaign: $2,300. Federal Election Commission records show she gave Obama’s campaign $1,000 on Feb. 4, another $1,000 on Feb. 18 and $300 on March 5. One of her father’s staunchest defenders during the Watergate scandal, she married the grandson of another Republican president, David Eisenhower, just before her father took office. Since her father’s resignation, she has written several books and is now co-chair of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Birthplace Foundation.

everything is relative. compared to Bush - Nixon was not a crook. I read that Prescott Bush (GW's grandfather) recruited Nixon into politics, put an ad in a newspaper seeking a bright young lawyer and Nixon answered. Prescott also is the one who dealt with the NAZIs from early 1930's to 1942, and was arrested for it.

I find it odd that Obama would want anything to do with support from the family that brought such disgrace on this country. Of course the money is good but I think he should return it, have nothing to do with tainted money.

Not only that, but statistically, some of the money Obama received might have been touched by a child molester - at least at some point as the bills circulated through the general population. Especially if the bill in question had passed through the wallet of a Republican Congressman or if the particular bill had been in circulation for a number of years. I find this particularly damming. I mean, Obama is indirectly receiving money from child molesters!!!

Money in the one party system buys influence and if you have a name, that adds ten fold of what you donated. The daughter of the only President forced out of office to avoid jail is tainted money and name looking to buy influence. I voted twice for Nixon.
How does one go from supporting George Bush with your money and name and then switch "parties" and ideology in one fell swoop???? Bush got us into this war and Julie helped by supporting him.

She with her money and name recognition helped bring us George Bush. There is one party, the elite ruling party, and they laugh with glee when the sheep do their duty and vote for the lesser of two evils. I gave up that idea and my patriotic duty to vote years ago. The elite gather together and celebrate, regardless of who wins, because they own them.
You must have a decent person - I've never given a nickel to my douche-bag, always his opponents, who Diebold keep defeating. Let's face it, the Help America Vote Act has pretty well screwed the pooch.

Hey, in 1968 I was 14 and a Nixon supporter myself. I was going to a pretty spendy private school and influenced by my peers. It makes me understand to a good degree why 14 year olds don't get the vote. ;-)
Private school???? elitist.... I had to force my way into Publik Skool. I started out voting for Ike and then a long list thereafter that i would have to think about.
