WASHINGTON — One of President Nixon’s daughters, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, apparently supports a Democrat in this year’s presidential contest — Barack Obama.

Eisenhower has contributed the maximum amount allowed during the primary season to Obama’s campaign: $2,300. Federal Election Commission records show she gave Obama’s campaign $1,000 on Feb. 4, another $1,000 on Feb. 18 and $300 on March 5.

One of her father’s staunchest defenders during the Watergate scandal, she married the grandson of another Republican president, David Eisenhower, just before her father took office.

Since her father’s resignation, she has written several books and is now co-chair of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Birthplace Foundation. Subscribe to *Obama Reality Check*

Yep, I can see it now..."Ike,Tricky Dick and Obama, Americas greatest Presidents"

Then Tom Brokaw can do a series on them and get paid for it. Keeps it all in the 'family'.

Watergate was tough on Julie in more ways than one.

Husband David snapped and was more interested in playing with his APBA baseball game than with her.

lod... I admit to being a cynic...

Just for your info please read the below, same people, giving money to Bush and McKooK.

There is only one party lod, just one. And they have the jack and the names.

"Julie Nixon Eisenhower, who wrote a biography of her mother and is active in civic causes in the Philadelphia area, has given sporadically over the years to Republican candidates and committees, according to campaign finance records. She gave $1,000 to President Bush and another $1,000 to the Republican National Committee, for instance, in the 2004 election cycle. In the 2000 presidential race, she donated $1,000 to Senator John McCain’s unsuccessful run.

That's too bad.

The last Presidential kid I had even the slightest empathy for, was John John. I guess most all the other kids fade into underground tunnels or something. And Reagans kids, just came across fruity and angry. I get it. They're slaves in their own way too. Still, they really have nothing ever to worry about in their whole lives... so can the bitching moaning evangelising or whatever.. just go away... be productive.... enough of your dirty laundry, on our dime.

But that's just me.

Money in the one party system buys influence and if you have a name, that adds ten fold of what you donated.

The daughter of the only President forced out of office to avoid jail is tainted money and name looking to buy influence.

I voted twice for Nixon.

Bush got us into this war and Julie helped by supporting him.

Really, that's fine by me - it's her money and she can spend it as she wishes, just as we all can, or not.

I tend to agree with several members here who believe, rightly or wrongly, that BHO may be the least reptilian of the options to emerge from this pathetic, made for TV, 'contest.'

Because they are not playing the same game as the rest of us. Their big name carries some influence for something way above our heads. Us peons run around like 4 year olds on a soccer field chasing their ball. This must crack them up to no end.

She with her money and name recognition helped bring us George Bush.

There is one party, the elite ruling party, and they laugh with glee when the sheep do their duty and vote for the lesser of two evils. I gave up that idea and my patriotic duty to vote years ago. The elite gather together and celebrate, regardless of who wins, because they own them.

Just like today! I barely know anyone who voted (or much less even likes) John McCain, yet he magically went from no support to claiming the GOP nomination. Ron Paul has way more internet searches, youtube videos, and signs all across the country. Yet Magic McCain is somehow crushing Paul in the primaries.

I thot that war would never end, watching the bodies come home week after week while at work was difficult. Now we have the same thing, not of the magnitude but nevertheless unending war. Voters have expressed their desires and the three candidates now running are for more war.

It was obscene when McKooK got 80 per cent of one primary and Paul got 3 per cent. In my lifetime I have seen over 20 years of war, all foreign wars, overseas. The voters want more. And war they shall have.
