So, I'm gonna wait till they wave off the backroom cigar smoke to waddle out and tell us who they decided to win and by how much. Why with more sacrifice you know. Higher taxes. Pelosi already wants to increase taxes on old folks. I'm sure the tax bracket of the rich will certainly be reformed to a family of 8 with a pack of crackers and 4 pair of shoes.

The polticial guys went from saying white guys were the key to winning, to white women will pack up in a huff if Hillary doesn't win, and that's trouble my friend. Then suddenly, worry and sweatbeads struck. What will we do about those WAMMEN (as Scarborough pronouces it), if they have no place to go?? Oh no! They said, well, there's a wammen in Kansas that might be a good replacement for 'her'. Somehow in the mix, the wammen vote was cast as nasty hags over 50, making less than 50K, and no school papers. ;)

What are they going to do? What will they do?

I guess Hill snagged the hags, and now Obama is talking about taking on McCain. 4 more years of Bush. Just met a kid TODAY, that didn't have health insurance. I think they pass the scripts back and forth and have no time to figure out why they lost the last state.

I guess he doesn't care about the wammen vote now.

Here in the hills we preferred Paul, but once he withdrew, people lost heart.

Yeah yeah.. then write him in. :)

Hey... huck got votes and he's OUT. You just never know, maybe the comatose vote will break for Paul! Imagine what damage a large Paul vote could do to McCain in the head to head. You'd think the O train would be rooting for paul, to peel off McCains appeal to Indy's and undecideds... pubs even. They have some weird strategery.

Somewhere along the line, Obama is going to have to decide whether he should accept half a loaf of bread, go for the whole loaf or end up with nothing.

The odds are against him as candidate for president. If he loses, he will be done forever in national politics. Somewhere along the line someone will have to tell him his 15 minutes are up, take the half a loaf.

According to the official Pennsylvania election returns site, http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/, Clinton is now at 54.3%, and Obama at 45.8%, for a margin of 8.5%. The popular-vote margin is 193,411 votes. This is 8.499% of the reported totals.

So, if you have to round, this is closer to 8% than to 9% (although just barely). And, if you round the candidates' percentages to 54% and 46%, that leads more directly to a difference of 8%. Although it's probably more honest just to make it 8.5%. (Interestingly, with the older figures that were used to reach the 10% margin, the margin, unrounded, was 9.38%. The only way they could get to 10% was by first rounding off the candidates' percentages to 55% and 45%. Exactly the procedure that, with the new figures, would lead to 8%, after rounding to 54% and 46%.)

In any case, it's certainly a long way from 10%.

I take it you don't like rounding.

Shall we agree that it was an 8.5% margin?

I'm looking at MSNBC as I type - Clinton-55%, Obama 45%

Politics is perception and perception is reality, so your rounding effort is lost on all but the most Hopeful among us.

Obama can't close the deal in the primaries, and 52% of Hillary's voters won't vote for him if he does (as per MSNBC exit polls).

Ferraro must be laffing herself silly, after she called Gov. Rendell for a "told you so" recital. No one wanted to listen to the old pros, all they could shout was "racism" which is their ace card. Get beyond racism and Obummers people are empty handed.

And I just refreshed the official Pennsylvania site, and the figures are precisely the same as I reported before, with percentages of 54.3% and 45.8%.

By the way, I looked at the Time magazine site a few minutes ago, and it has the same figures.

Ron Paul targeted over surveillance votes

By 3strikes | April 22, 2008

New radio ads are running in districts of several Democratic members of Congress, as well as Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul, targeting the lawmakers for their opposition to a White House-backed surveillance bill. The ads play on national security fears in an attempt to spur these lawmakers to give in to the administration’s demands.

Critics of the administration-backed bill say it does not guarantee enough civil liberties protections and would eliminate oversight of President Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program.

Meanwhile, Politico reports that Democrats, Republicans and administration officials have met to discuss the stalled bill in question. It’s the first time since February parties on all sides of the issue have met.

The ads come from the ostensibly nonpartisan group Defense of Democracies, following up on an earlier campaign from the group targeting many of the same lawmakers.

The organization is urging the House to pass a Bush-approved update to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that would provide legal immunity to phone companies that may have violated the law in facilitating the warrantless wiretapping of Americans after 9/11.

Civil libertarians and privacy advocates say the White House version of the bill, which already has been approved in the Senate, also does not provide enough judicial and congressional oversight for the administration’s proposed surveillance program.

My guess is Ron Paul is doing better than McCain.

Who the ____ would vote for McCain?

County Results --- 99% Reporting

1 McCain 585,447 73%

2 Ron Paul 128,188 16%

Obama's campaign's strategy seems to be one of running Hillary out of money by forcing her to spend big bucks in a state that she already had in her pocket. Pretty clever.

I was looking at the money figures last night. Not only was Clinton broke at the start of the month, but her list of donors have, on the average, already given 70% of their $2300 maximum. Obama's donors have only given 3% of their $2300. So Clinton has to find new donors at this point while Obama just has to hit his up again.

I'm looking at MSNBC as I type - Clinton-55%, Obama 45%

The numbers yield a difference of 9.32%.

MSNBC is rounding Clinton UP .34% and rounding Obama DOWN .34%, injecting an error of .68%, and then calculating the difference.

The difference, using MSNBC numbers, is 9.32%. If rounded off, it properly goes to 9%, not 10%.

I think that the Hillary fix is in especially now that the GOP is openly trying to Swift Boat Obama in NC for Hillary. Leads me to believe that Hillary is a neocon mole. Nothing will change with another Bush/Clinton in the White House.
