WHO: People concerned about rapid global population growth and its impacts on birds, wildlife and humanity. People passionate about finding cost-effective, human-rights based policies that can address the drivers of population growth, improve human well-being, and create a more sustainable future. People who want to act now to address these challenges. People like YOU!
WHAT: A workshop that will provide the information and training that will equip you with the skills you need to be an effective advocate on population issues. You will learn the basics of population-environment interactions, hear about the experiences of Audubon members who have recently traveled to Ethiopia and the Philippines to investigate these issues, and develop the skills to communicate effectively with your elected officials on these topics. On the third day, you will have the opportunity to meet with your Representative and Senators or their staff on Capitol Hill. Following the training, you will return home equipped with the skills and inspiration to continue working for solutions.
[authors note] I wonder if this will be just a feel good event or if they will really get into the grit of US population growth, it’s causes and consequences! As everyone who reads this site knows most of the US population increase is due to immigration (legal-illegal) and immigrant children. It is about time an environmental organization started talking about population again! I wonder if they will be truthful and honest or PC?

Last Friday on some CNN weekly roundup, they had a speaker discussing population growth, and sustainibility. Saying that the US pop grows 70M people per year, and that can not continue. Efforts for 'natural control' (?) could not bring sustainibility into balance, therefore, other methods must be a topic of future discussion. FWIW... I guess you better take lots of family pictures now.
