Do you watch the news on TV? I don't. In fact, there are times when I will not turn on the TV for a week. My wife will, but only, of course, to Spanish stations, and that is a real chore to listen to (for me), so I don't pay attention anyway. I read.
But Sunday morning, just for a change, I decided to do something different. With all of the news shows and Meet the Press B.S. on, OK, I will 'check it out' and see if anything has changed. After all, the reason I do not watch is the lying, so maybe....
Not!
I did not have the TV on for more than 5 minutes before I was shaking my head, dumbfounded at the stupidity. Not of the actors cum news reporters on the screen; the stupidity of the people who listen to such without throwing something through the TV!
First off, I caught a 'debate' between a rep for Hillary and another for Obama, with an actor cum newsreporter (Blitzer) mediating. All about what they 'believe' and what the future holds and who lies and who tells the truth and how good the future would be with 'their' candidate in office and and and and and...
I am sure you get the picture.
One of the 'points' they made (and agreed on) and which stuck with me was how dangerous it is now that North Korea and Syria are cooperating on Nuclear research. And, how correct Israel was to bomb 'that nuclear reactor that Syria was building' in the desert (some months ago).
As I and others have posted in 4um, that is a complete fabrication, and these people (the talking heads on the TV Sunday morning AND THESE TWO SO-CALLED CANDIDATES) know it! And if they do not, then they have no business being where they are. Another thing both candidates agreed about is the OBLIGATION of the United States to be the first line of defense for Israel. Some squabbels about details, but both agree on the main points.
What did I learn? Only a fool thinks either of these people is honest or, deserving of donations or support. And hey, if you are a supporter of Obama, or Hillary (or McCain), that means YOU ARE A FOOL!!
Naturally enough, I had trouble listening to all of the show, so I was changing the channels a lot. Found some interesting tidbits, like, now is a GOOD time to think about buying a house.
NOT!!
And how important it is for Americans to get back into the swing of things, now that most of the credit woes are behind us....
NOT!!
And not to forget the Home and Garden Show now going on... inside of an air conditioned building, and how many good buys there are on lawn furniture and other needful B.S. Got to motivate those consumers!!
And of course, a full dose of advertising went along with my news over-load, esp. about cars and NEW LOW INTEREST bait. Amazing. Not the low interest bait, that is to be expected, it is all of the advertising which someone obviously is paying for. Why? Cause it works, and just like Pavlov's dogs, people dutifully note it and react. Silly sheeple.
So what did I learn? That the more things change, the more they stay the same. In short, it will be a LONG time before I waste another beautiful morning watching the B.S. on the TV! What garbage!
