There are new polls of the Democratic nomination race in Indiana and North Carolina today from Zogby International. They show Barack Obama holding on to a 9-percentage-point lead over Hillary Rodham Clinton in North Carolina, 48%-39%.

The Indiana race is a statistical tie, with Obama edging Clinton 43%-41%. Yesterday they were one percentage point apart.

As always, we caution you that these are snapshots and we don't know what voters will do when those states vote on Tuesday.

In other primary news, Obama has picked up several newspaper endorsements. They include:

--The Charlotte Observer. "Do the Democrats need a restoration of the past, or is it time for a change? We think it's time for a change."

--The Louisville Courier-Journal. "Sen. Obama's relentless focus on change, and the hordes of new voters he draws to the polls, would make it hard for his victory to be read as anything other than a mandate for changing how Washington works."

--Also the Muncie Star Press and Gary Post-Tribune.

Earlier, Clinton was endorsed by the Indianapolis Star. Subscribe to *Obama 2008*

And the morons at the Charlotte Observer think that we are going to get any "change" with Obama? From what I have heard if they have any "change" they better figure out where to hide it if they help that sob get elected (not that any of the three establishment choices are any good, I wouldn't vote for any of them for dog catcher).
