There are new polls of the Democratic nomination race in Indiana and North Carolina today from Zogby International. They show Barack Obama holding on to a 9-percentage-point lead over Hillary Rodham Clinton in North Carolina, 48%-39%.

The Indiana race is a statistical tie, with Obama edging Clinton 43%-41%. Yesterday they were one percentage point apart.

As always, we caution you that these are snapshots and we don't know what voters will do when those states vote on Tuesday.

In other primary news, Obama has picked up several newspaper endorsements. They include:

--The Charlotte Observer. "Do the Democrats need a restoration of the past, or is it time for a change? We think it's time for a change."

--The Louisville Courier-Journal. "Sen. Obama's relentless focus on change, and the hordes of new voters he draws to the polls, would make it hard for his victory to be read as anything other than a mandate for changing how Washington works."

--Also the Muncie Star Press and Gary Post-Tribune.

Earlier, Clinton was endorsed by the Indianapolis Star. Subscribe to *Obama 2008*

"Sen. Obama's relentless focus on change..."

What change? More government? More wars? More taxes? That is not change. Okay, I admit that making things go from bad to worse is change. Still, that is not what I had in mind.

It's funny, a topic about how Obama stood in the same room with a guy wearing a Che Guava shirt 20 years ago gets +100 posts. I put up Obama's Neo-neocon manifesto from the CFR and there is not one reply.

That just re-enforces my conviction that America is all about style and not one wit about substance. Right or wrong does not matter so long as you look cool doing it.

Renewing American Leadership

Long read, but worth it.

Maybe I should have given it a different title so more people would read it. Something like "OMFG here's a pic of Obama reading 'Das Kapital' and feeding puppies into a meat grinder at the same time!" should just rake in the comments.

It was an interesting read.

Maybe you should have resisted the urge to put your ridiculous "summary" on the end of it.
