I have to be honest, I'm completely distressed at what's happened to this forum. The fighting and the distrust between those for and those against Obama has gotten to the point where, in my opinion, it's destroying the forum. What's the point of having an open free speech venue when everyone is bozo'ing everyone else?

When I read my mission statement and what Freedom4um was created to be, I don't even recognize the place anymore. There will be changes made in the near future as I decide what is best for the continued growth of this forum.

The bozo filter is the only reason I'm still here. I do not enjoy foul mouthed attacks just for having a difference of opinion. And if I consider someone to be a pest or a troll or a waste of my time, I appreciate being able to filter that out. It's the only way I will be able to enjoy this forum anymore.

I'm here for open, honest discussions of the issues; finding agreement where we can and agreeing to disagree where we cannot. Bozo allows me to concentrate on posters who are capable of having honest, civil discussions.

I agree with robin. That is the right of anyone, regardless of their opinions.

I also admit to bozoing two, one of which is a shill, Mister Clean, the other for his absolutely foul mouth, which I do not appreciate. I have come close to doing the same for another, but have resisted. I am also on bozo from considerably more, which may have something to do with my opinion about Obama.... perhaps?

Just my opinion, but if you do away with the bozo, you will need to establish a committee to resolve banishments, at least I would think so. Or, you may find that the spam from shills will overwhelm the genuine posters, of which there are many in 4um. The bozo filter is a wonderful tool for limiting the shills in their ability to disrupt the free exchange of ideas. I think that most of this problem will disappear once the queen is elected anyway.

This, of course, is just my opinion for what it is worth.

regarding the bozo, i think the solution is a compromise. we'll keep the feature, but limit the number of spaces. i'll be making the decision on what that number should be.

I can ignore with a simple scroll by, I don't need the bozo function. In this tangent of attack, the malfunction lies with the Prima Donnas whining about who bozos them, not those using the function as designed.
