Msgr. Balducci is one of the best-known and most respected Italian theologians. The Roman priest and Curia member served the Holy See as a diplomat and member of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples ("Propaganda Fide"). He is an expert on demonology and parapsychology, was for several years the exorcist of the diocese of Rome, the Pope?s diocese. Msgr. Balducci wrote several books, including the bestseller "Il Diavolo" (the Devil) which reached 14 print runs in the hardcover edition. Furthermore he is a regular guest in the Italian State TV (Rai Due), where he made several statements on the UFO phenomenon since 1995. He spoke on the UFO congresses in Acapulco and San Marino. We publish his paper for the first time in an English translation. It is indeed noteworthy, since it is the very first detailed statement of a senior Roman Catholic theologian and Curia member on the UFO phenomenon. More than that, it demonstrates the openness of the Roman Catholic church in this question and can be considered the first ever complex positive statement regarding the UFO/ET reality from the point of view of a major world religion - with its over 1 Billion faithful, the RC Church is indeed the largest religious community on Earth. Note that since the first Balducci-statement also H.H., the Dalai Lama (for Tibetan Buddhism), several Jewish rabbis in Israel and, in 2001, the Muslim authorities of Turkey followed with positive statements on this subject. Therefore it can be said that UFOs are not only ?no problem? for the largest Christian church, but also for other world religions.

From the article:

I discovered that long before the Bible there were tablets written by ancient humans. These were the Sumerians. There are even older tablets written by a people yet to be determined but the language has not yet been effectively translated. The Sumerians are, as of now, the earliest known human civilization. Their tablets tell many of the stories we find in the Bible but with a remarkably different twist. I was beside myself when I realized the significance of this information. I'd always felt that the Bible was the oldest documented record of our past. I'd never considered any other possibility. The Bible was compiled in the early A.D. while the Sumerian Tablets go back to 3600 BCE. I accepted that these tablets spoke of our creation (Homo Sapiens Sapiens) at the hands of an alien race to be slaves and mine for Gold. That discovery lead to more research - specifically that involving the Vatican position on E.T. and creation. To my great surprise I discovered that after Vatican II, the RC Church announced that evolution was plausible. The Church had to accept the science and could no longer manipulate the truth. The Vatican back-peddled and changed its position to say that while evolution or alien influence may have played a hand in the creation of Homo Sapiens, the "soul" was unique and of God.

These two facts may have been available for 30 or more years but it wasn't until I had easy access to research that I was able to find this information. The idea that my RC Church had changed its doctrine but still taught me of creation during my 12 years of Catholic School had me rather unsettled and widened the gap between my beliefs and that of the RC Church.

In short order, I was now forced to reconsider everything I'd ever believed in and build a new understanding of my personal belief system. This process wasn't short by any means. I struggled with my crisis of faith. I felt empty and alone. I mourned for the days of ignorance. After all, ignorance is bliss or so they say. Like a shark in a feeding frenzy, I devoted all of my personal time for the purpose of discovery. Just when I thought I had the answers, I discovered more.

very interesting reading...
