Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's top aides yesterday accused Sen. Barack Obama of ignoring West Virginia, saying Democrats must win the state in the fall and using her 43-point poll lead there as evidence that her longshot bid deserves to run its course. "What is the basis for the so-called 'presumptive nominee' not competing in a state that would be a key swing state?" Clinton communications director Howard Wolfson asked reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast, adding that a Tuesday victory could be a turning point for his boss. A 15-point win for Mrs. Clinton, "in an atmosphere in which she is being written off and told to leave the campaign, if voters hearing that in West Virginia decided to choose to affirm her candidacy despite that, I think that would say something significant about her ability to compete and win votes in a very tough environment," he said. Since winning North Carolina and coming within two points in Indiana, Mr. Obama has done everything to indicate he views himself as the Democratic presidential nominee — avoiding engaging with Mrs. Clinton, and disregarding his rival's calls for a debate and pivoting toward the general election. -Snip

You have to admit, we haven't such great theater from the cabal in years...maybe EVER. Probably ever.
I've never seen anything like this. He can't get the middle class white vote, and the Ds can't appear racist and not give him the nod. What a delightful dilemma the multiculturists are in.

All the anti-Obama 'analyses' start from the premise that every single vote that Hillary got and Obama didn't is going to McCain in November. Well... frankly, my dears, while it is true that the MSM seems to share the same view, such an assumption is as stupid as it gets.

Can you tell me what she is still doing in the contest? She has lent her campaign more than $11 mil. This is now about defeating O for McKooK.
McCain is in a really sweet spot. But I have a feeling he will blow it just like Dole did.

Obama spelled it out - why she's still 'fighting'. If Obama publicly suggested paying her off for dropping... that's a hint. She would really, really love to see that $11 she lent her campaign being repaid, somehow.

I tend to agree w/the Dole comparison, but Obama is no Clinton. I think there is tons of stuff we have yet to learn about him.
One pundit said that if Obama loses big time in WV that small town America that has already voted will take note. There is a penalty to pay for looking down ones long nose at working Americans.
All Bush needs to do is push the amnesty deal one last time before he goes, and both sides will pop like a ripe grape. C'mon seabiscuit!
