It will be interesting to see how much of the white vote the 57 stater will get in Oregon. If it is also low then Obama is finished.
He will clean up in Oregon for the primary because it has been Californicated. For the general, its less certain due to the Bradley Effect and that Kerry only took the state with 51% in 2004 and that for some weird reason a lot of Californicates turn into "Northwest rednecks" after time. The difference, of course, between a Northwest Redneck and a Southern Redneck doesn't just stop with the college degree, but the Northwest Redneck only drinks local microbrew and prefers non-Starbucks coffee while dining at non-chain restaurants. The Northwest Redneck still can't differentiate between any two kinds of Asian food despite a haughty attitude, but he plays the game well. Instead of a 1970s pickup, he drives a lean, mean, modern machine, usually Japanese. Over time, he picks up a rabid anti-tax stance and joins the locals in crafting ballot measures to limit how much money the State can extract from the people. After a decade, a sheen of cynicism comes over him and he begins to distrust politicians he once worshiped in the warm California sun. There is a joke around here: An earthquake hits California and kills a million people. FEMA sends aid. Oregon sends a million replacement Californians and asks if they need a million more. Please, take them. There are plenty to get rid of.
Hillary won California.
California is a majority-minority state, though. Oregon most definitely is not.
I'm not following. I thought minorities were for Obama. Maybe just the African American minorities are for him. Still, I don't see Hillary doing too bad in Oregon, unless the whites there are semi-retarded.
California is approaching "Hispanic Majority" status. Hispanics don't like blacks in California. Check the now-weekly race riots in Los Angeles schools for details. California Hispanics did not vote for Obama. The liberal centers (excluding Los Angeles) went for Obama; the sticks went for Clinton. Oregon has a lot of bleeding-hearts who come from the liberal centers of CA so the Guilt Level overfloweth. CNN's California exit poll demographic breakdown put it this way: - Whites aged 18-44 went for Obama Now, take into account that Oregon is about 90% white with the population split 50/50 between 'Moscow on the Willamette' Portland and 'the rest of the state' and do the math from there. Oregon goes for Obama in the primary.
Any white that thinks they need to feel guilty about slavery doesn't really deserve to be free. Union soldiers fought and died partly to stop slavery. They knew if it spread to the North then the poor and middle class whites in factories would lose their jobs to black slaves. The people that brought the slaves over here from Africa were Jewish. If any one should feel guilty about slavery in America it is the Jews and the plantation owners, not your average white person. Of course you will never see a Jew feel guilty about such a thing, most don't even feel guilty about what they are doing now to the Palestinians.

That may be the case, but it still exists. People feel guilt for things they had nothing to do with BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD TO HAVE IT. See my rant on another thread for details.

- Whites aged 45+ went for Clinton
- Latinos (all ages) went for Clinton by 60% or better
- 'All other races' (Asian, East Indian, et al) went for Clinton by 62%
