While this cliché is undeniably true, it reveals, like most clichés, a certain world-weary cynicism that is unflattering and downright dangerous, for it betrays the blithe acceptance of something that, in my opinion, should never, ever be tolerated: Leaders who lie about wars.

this has been true since the beginning of time. wars are waged for acquisition of sheer power by a few over the masses.

With the often willing help of the masses.

We forget 75%+ of America was FOR the Invasion of Iraq.

The fault is not Dubya's but ours. The responsibility is collective. To use pop psychocliches, we enabled him, and entrusted to him not only the responsibility to keep us safe, but we did not want to be bothered by the "details" and the validity of his strategery.

This hairpulling and breast beating is reminiscent of the "good Germans" after World War Two.
