Said Oliver Twist and it may become our national slogan under President Obama.

I commented yesterday on his bizarre reference to his intention to control how much we eat but still couldn’t believe my ears. Now, I have a second source.

"We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen," he added.

Source

That’s the only mention of his statement on Google News.

Today’s quote is even worse. Not only is there a presidential candidate suggesting that the federal government should control how much we eat, but he says that other countries will set the standards.

A few days ago, I was going to post about how the global warming thesis provides the basis for totalitarian government. I rest my case.

Finally, I've found a way to keep my weight to desirable poundage for a worthless eater!

simply put, Obama, like the rest of our traitor politicians save one or two, is not an AmericaFirster. that's our objection. not his race. we are arguing against him because you and the others are trying to claim he's different.

Christine, America is no longer 'number one' and, as Frank Zappa used to say, "we ain't even number two" in most respects. And, regardless of Obama, we set the temps at 60F in our house at night last winter and dressed in multiple layers during the day. We even drove less - and we are in the America's top 5%, as far as our income is concerned. I can't claim that I know what those who make half as much money do to live a decent life.

So, with or without Obama, this is the life we live. It's not Obama that makes me drive less or keep my house cooler and it's not Obama that makes me ensure that my kids eat right and stay fit.

Obama: "We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

Makes me wonder why he thinks any of that, other than what he eats and how much fuel he uses, is any of his business? Another @$$hole who wants to run everyone else's lives. And people actually support this jerk for president! Oh the humanity!

No, but it is Obama who thinks it is somehow some of his business how cool or warm you keep your home and how much you eat. You support someone who sounds as totalitarian (if he gets elected and could have his way) as Stalin and Lenin.

Obama can express his views on anything like we all do. As a president, he can't make new laws. He can try to persuade the congress to make more laws but he can't issue executive orders that force us to eat less or freeze in the winter. Most people who freeze in the winter freeze because they can't afford to stay warm not because the president says so. And, if the president ordered them to stay warm, they'd still be freezing.

In case you missed it (very possible), my point is that Obama has a totalitarian bent (to be fair everyone who was running, with the exception of Ron Paul, seems to have one). Obama wants to tell people how much fuel they can use, how much they can eat, what temperature to keep their homes. Screw him and all like him who think they have some God-given right to interfere with everyone else and run their lives!

Indeed. All of the above has been in our history already. Gas rationing, the gov't taking over certain industries, making the possession of gold illegal, the 'war' on drugs, the eminent domain, artificially low speed limits, mandatory ethanol in gasoline... it's a long list.

Obama promised to reverse some of the more outrageous intrusions by W Bush. I doubt that he would stop the 'war on drugs' and it is possible that he may try to make the congress vote the 55 mph speed limit again.

Two more excellent reasons to oppose the statist whore.

It's very difficult to find any campaign ideas that don't step on any corporate lobbyists' toes.

He couldn't pass any unpopular ideas without congress, and, they'd likely prove to be obstructionist on ideas like these.

They can be very courageous when not asked to oppose the banksters or the war machine.
