Oregon, is 90% white, I heard. Are you saying that Hillary beat Obama 75% to 25% in Oregon?

I don't have MSNBC. I suppose this is another one of your misunderstandings.

I remember you posted a similar thread with false data in it some time ago during another primary vote. Your source was MSNBC.

But, you better answer the question. Is Hillary beating Obama in Oregon by 75-25, because if she doesn't she can't be getting 85% of the vote.

Oregon, is 90% white, I heard.

That's about right, +/- 2%.

Maybe that big demonstration in Downtown Portland didn't amount to much BUT we will have to see what happens as the numbers come in. The crowd estimates have already been downsized by nearly 50% to 40k as opposed to the 75k claimed by some.

The polls in OR don't close until 8pm There was an "exit poll" done by phone over the weekend since Oregon doesn't actually have polling places; its vote by mail or dropoff ONLY.

Sorry you haven't cable, but MSNBC reported Hillary has disproportionate numbers of white votes in both KY and OR. Lets put numbers on it when it's finalized, but the bigger problem your guy has is this; the white working class (read, small town, gun owners) aren't buying his brand of redistributionism.

It's stunning that Hillary is seen as the least threatening candidate to them. This illustrates just how far we have fallen in the past 16 years.

Could be. I know KY is 75% white for H, I thought I saw a lopsided # for OR, but I might have it wrong. We'll know soon.

If Oregon is 90% White, Obama can't win the state unless he gets a majority of the Whites.

I believe it's known that Hillary gets the rural, the less educated, the white women and the elderly. The elderly and the rural tend to be White. The rural tend also to be less educated. It's not clear how big a role racism is playing in this.

Oregon has mostly already voted. The count amoung those that voted a few days ago was 49% to 49%. Obama will probably win Oregon, but not by double digits.

Yes, but if the Whites of Kentucky reject Obama and the Whites of Oregon embrace him, you need to find something other than Whiteness to understand what's going on. Don't you agree? It could be that 'the working class' doesn't like him or there may be a combination of several factors but it may be that it's not the race that makes the difference. I mentioned age, education and gender. They all seem to be unevenly distributed between the 2. The Blacks are Obama's, for sure, regardless of age, gender, education or occupation, but I'm not so sure about the Whites.

Note that I'm helping you making your case that it's not 'racism' that determines pro or anti-Obama votes.

I understand what you're saying. What is totally perplexing to me is why is H still in this? She is damaging him in that he lost the white vote - large - in PA, WV, and now KY, all since his bible/guns & Rev Wright events. Barring a lightening strike, she can't win, but on she goes,,,,,

My impression is that Hillary's plan is to punish the Dems for denying her the nomination and the presidency. Lately, she's trying to peel the women away from Obama by claiming that she's a victim of sexism. She is also trying to deny Obama any chance in Florida and Michigan and, of course, she is pushing the White working class into McCain's arms. I don't know if it's going to work. The Obama McCain debates are going to be interesting and they are likely to determine the winner of the November election.

That may be the case. Sitting in a Waffle House not all that long ago, I overheard a group of men sitting around shooting the bull. Obama's *bitter* comment came up and woooooo baby, that will not be forgotten anytime soon. I can tell you, that remark did not go over well at all. Especially in this rural area. Those guys were pissed about it.

I noticed something at work today. I work in a call center with approx. 350- 400 people. Breakdown is about 60 percent white/40 percent black. I saw about 20 whites with I Voted stickers and 0 blacks. The blacks I spoke with had the following reasons for not voting:

1. I didn't know where to vote

2. I don't know if I am registered

3. I don't have time

When I offered up the courthouse phone number to the two who weren't sure if they could vote or where, they couldn't be bothered. One white person overheard me and asked for the number, she found out where she could vote and went and did so on her lunch. The rest couldn't be bothered. I don't know what it means, but it just struck me as odd.

So....Obama loses in OH, PA, WV and KY, with the common denominator being that working class whites (MSM speak for uneducated, double-wide inhabitants) aren't buying his snake oil. He's pulling in between 20-25% of that demographic. He has a problem.

Not my first choice for a job, I already left once, they talked me in to coming back. Pay is too good for me to pass up right now. But, it's a decent job for alot of the younger kids in this area. I don't think there are too many in this area that haven't worked there. Turnover is horrendous. It's a tough job being on the phones with grouchy people.

www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS...0/primary.wrap/index.html

Obama's top strategist, David Axelrod, said getting the pledged delegate majority was an "important milestone," but not the end of the trail.

Neither candidate is expected to reach the 2,026 delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination.

That means the race is likely to be settled by "superdelegates" -- party leaders and officials who will cast votes at the Democratic convention in August.

Read...who is going to be able to buy the majority of the "superdelegates"?

LOL. I did not notice that.

Yesterday morning, JT was demanded that someone picked between opposing distributionism and Obama. Now, that we all understand how JT himself is a beneficiary of distributionism, he PIVOTED (I love the word) to Obama's BRAND of distributionism.

The distributionism that benefits JT is good but Obama's BRAND... Oy! Vey!!!

There's no need to read that. Hillary lost already. Her late whining about her being disrespected for being a bitch and a witch signals her pathetic awakening to reality. She's never going to be the president of the US (oh my... what a loss) and she is not about to go down with a whimper. She'll be screaming like an el torro in the slaughter house. I don't know how wealth is 'redistributed' to the 'lower and beyond'. Is Obama eager to put everyone on welfare and on food stamps? I don't think so. The lower income people already don't pay taxes and most middle income pay relatively low taxes, at least at the federal level. So, how is Obama going to redistribute 'wealth' to the lower income?

This is what he might do:

- Expanding gov't paid health coverage to low income people.
- More gov't help with low income kids' education, including more support for ghetto schools.
- Eliminating the Social Security tax for the lower income but that would be hard because there's already the 'earned income' tax credit that is meant to eliminate it.

Can you think of any other way in which Obama may benefit our enemy, 'the lazy and the poor'?

If the government forces redistributions unto undeserving others then they could be viewed as the enemies of the self-sustained because they are the friends of our true enemy, the welfare state.

My question was, how is Obama going to channel our hard-earned wealth to the enemy other than in the modest ways I outlined above?

One of the biggest ways the gov't does this is by its expansion. Non producing government workers are the way the gov't (Obama included) cultivates parasites on the working class.

As I stated before, almost everyone is a racist. I don't think it's just a cultural thing. Racism is probably genetic but it can be reinforced and exacerbated by upbringing and circumstances.

Now, in the case of Hillary, I am surprised that so many do vote for her. I don't know why she would deserve anyone's vote but that's a different issue.

Most blacks vote for Obama out of race pride, no question about it but I don't think that Al Sharpton got anywhere close to 90% of the black vote 4 years ago and he is a lot blacker than Obama. Condi Rice would probably get a low percentage of the black vote.
