The democratic candidate Hillary Clinton will be in Puerto Rico for three days campaigning for the upcoming democrat primary on June 1st.

Hillary Clinton, aspiring to be the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, will be visiting Puerto Rico Saturday, in a three day tour in order to assure votes facing the primary one the 1 of June.

“Clinton senator will be visiting Puerto Rico as of Saturday. She is going to be Saturday, Sunday and Monday with all we visiting different places in Puerto Rico”, today said in the morning the president of the Democratic Party in the Island, Prats Robert.

It said that during the next days they will be offering details on his visit.

Clinton comes to prevail comfortably last night in the primary one of the state of Kentucky, soon to lose in the state of Oregon in front of its rival Barack Obama.

Clinton is surpassed by Obama in the count of delegates and superdelegates.

The Clinton family already has sent to two of her members to the Island looking for votes: Chelsea Clinton and the ex- president of the United States, Bill Clinton.

If Puerto Rico gives her the popular vote lead then she will have a good case to be the democrat nominee. Super delegates are aware that Puerto Rico is very close to statehood and wouldn't want to piss them off for future contests.

"Super delegates are aware that Puerto Rico is very close to statehood and wouldn't want to piss them off for future contests."

The status quo has won the last three nonbinding plebiscites on statehood.

The cost of living would go up, and Puerto Rico would lose it's prized independence in sports with no more Olympic team. Anti 51st state campaigns just post pictures of Puerto Rican Olympic athletes with tears running down their cheeks and sentiment for statehood goes down the tubes.

Instead of constantly pulling things out of your fat butt that is merely wishful thinking, check the fact for once. Statehood is not in the offering anytimes soon, and yes, the super delegates know tht well. You must be on some good drugs to think otherwise.

You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.

Think again.

Hillary Promises to Help Puerto Ricans Decide on Statehood or Independence

Hillary Clinton today promised Puerto Ricans she would "would vigorously advance plans that would enable Puerto Rico to decide if it wants to remain a commonwealth or become a U.S. state or an independent nation."

Puerto Rico has been a commonwealth since 1952. Its residents are almost equally divided on whether it should change its status:

Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens but cannot vote for president, and their representation in Congress is restricted to a single nonvoting member. National party conventions provide islanders a rare chance to have a direct say in Washington.

.

In her campaign's Monday statement, Clinton also pledged to provide new tax benefits to create jobs in Puerto Rico, which is struggling through a second year of recession, and to return some federal land on the outlying island of Vieques to local residents.

Clinton was among several New York politicians who had been vocal supporters of halting military exercises in Vieques, which had provoked protests that contributed to the U.S. decision to end maneuvers in 2003.

Today, Hillary Clinton released a policy agenda to put more policemen in Puerto Rico, bring universal health care to the island, create new jobs and work to have the federal government give up land on Vieques island, where the Navy formerly operated a bombing range. Her plan today is also designed to lift the cap on Medicaid there, and to extend President Bush’s latest budget proposal to include aid to Puerto Ricans.

“As first lady and senator from New York—with a million constituents of Puerto Rican origin and people moving back and forth—she has worked closely with Puerto Rican leaders,” the campaign said in a statement.

They only get the universal health care if they become a state.
