The Nation -- John Hagee, the controversial pastor who has endorsed John McCain, argued in a late 1990s sermon that God sent Hitler to help the Jews get to the promised land (Israel, not Auschwitz).

Why did God allow the Holocaust to happen? According to a report in the Huffington Post by Sam Stein, Hagee's answer was: "Because God said my top priority for the Jewish people is to get them to come back to the land of Israel."

The report raises several questions. Did God have to be so rough in his methods? Instead of putting the Jews on trains to Auschwitz, couldn't he have gotten them bus tickets to Tel Aviv?

Hagee made the news earlier when he told Terry Gross on NPR's "Fresh Air" that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for the people of New Orleans who allowed a Gay Pride parade to be scheduled. According to that theory, the Holocaust should be seen as God's punishment for the Jews allowing those Gay Pride parades in Warsaw, Odessa and Lodz.

Alternatively, Hurricane Katrina could be viewed as God's method of getting the people of New Orleans to move to Houston.

Hagee got in trouble earlier for a sermon in which he called the Catholic church "the Great Whore." He would never say that about Golda Meier.

Hagee is one of the organizers of Christians United for Israel, which lobbies Congress on behalf of the Jewish state. He has received many awards from right-wing Jewish organizations, incudling the Israel Award of the Zionist Organization of America, presented in a ceremony in Dallas by former UN Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick.

Hagee's sermon on Hitler as God's agent, delivered in the late 1990s, was first posted by Bruce Wilson on his site, Talk To Action.

Things did not go as such when Germany invaded Russia, forcing America to act to protect its own unilateral interests, as if Germany had successfully completed it's invasion, which it was on course to do, America would have become subordinate to the newly established European Empire led by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi's. Well, we now stand on the brink of a new German riech, with german sentiment against the unilateral US/UK alliance is growing, and resentment over war reparations to Isreal and other European countries is on the rise. The jewish population may again become persecuted, especially by the 7 million muslims now living in Germany. The actions of Isreal have been absolutely unnessecary of late, and should it come under attack from its arab neighbours, i would violently oppose Australia being involved in any defence support. i would rather we were good friends with jordan, lebanon, syria and Eygypt/Arabia, as we have more to fear from them than the puny Isreali's, who are consistently allowed to trump thier nieghbours due to an unknown nuclear capability. Why do we allow such a pathetic excuse for democracy to stand? why don't we invade Isreal? The most virulent anti Ron Paul people also seem to be the most pro-Israel. I won't insult anyones intelligence by asking if it seems a tad too coincidental to be believed as such.

I remember a contest in grade school, there were like six different colored ribbons as prizes. I won the green one, which signified fourth or fifth place, out of four or five I think it was. It was a beautiful shade of green, all shimery too. God how I loved that ribbon and came to regret my fall from grace once everyone owned some sort of ribbon.
