WASHINGTON — Cindy McCain, who two weeks ago said she would never make her tax returns public, revealed Friday that she had a total income of more than $6 million in 2006.

The presidential campaign of her husband, Republican John McCain, released the top two summary pages of her 2006 tax return, eager to avoid making her earlier refusal an issue in the contest.

The documents show that Mrs. McCain, who files her taxes separately from her husband, paid more than $1.7 million in federal income taxes — a tax rate of more than 28 percent. She reported nearly $570,000 in itemized deductions.

McCain’s campaign said she had received an extension on her 2007 tax returns and aides said it is likely she would make those public when they are filed.

The Arizona senator released his own tax return last month, reporting a total income of $405,409 in 2007 and $84,460 in federal income taxes.

There's just something about Cindy...

That woman is a wierd and strange space cadet. She reminds me of Jar Jar Binks.

I shall not vote for evil, lesser or otherwise.

Now do I ever feel like white trash.

I am totally ashamed to say the amount of my deductions.

There is one good point however. It is truly amazing that such elite people want to sacrifice their lives for public service for the betterment of mankind.

Did I mention the lady has her own beer truck and a private jet?????

Enjoy them while you can. This crew comes from the Party of Big Tax and deductions will go the way of the dinosaurs.

Cynthia may have more deductions than this entire 4um combined...but considering the six huge she 'earned,' that's about right.

A lot of beer drinking sheep were sheared for her to "earn" six big ones.

Now that's uncalled for. What did Jar Jar Binks ever do to you to deserve being lumped in with that hag?

Uh, who is Jar Jar Binks?

He was an annoying character in the three most recent Star Wars movies.

Cindy's $6 Million is not that far off from what Obama and his wife declared as earnings -$4.2 Million. And both couples pale in comparison to the Clinton's earnings in 2007 - $20.4 Million.

It's obvious that the political oligarchs running for high office - the McCains and the Obamas and the Clintons - have way more in common with one another than any of them have with average American voter rubes.
