JM in Reno is a fan of my web page and a very frequent correspondent about political matters. Today, he wrote me about something spiritual.

“I've been reading your articles & corresponding with you via e-mail for quite sometime now. I have a problem I want to tell you about.

“You are a Christian; I am not. I am a dyed-in-the-wool secularist who is having a major problem with a change of heart. Listening to Christian sermons on the radio doesn't help; going to Bible-believing churches doesn't either.

“What is wrong with me? Do you have any suggestions?”

I wrote:

I was very frustrated too. I had been hanging around Christians for over five years, but I had the same problem you did. I was reading my Bible, going to some Christian fellowship groups and associating with Christians very frequently.

One day, after a conversation with a Christian professor friend, I was walking across the campus of that hallowed institution in Tempe, Arizona.   I remember looking skyward and simply saying: "God. I want to know what these Christians know."

I just remember an incredibly good supernatural feeling coming over me unlike any I had felt before or have felt since. At that point, on October 22, 1986, I became a Christian. My past was totally forgiven and my future was totally secure.

I know that I have not always acted as if this were the case. Jesus calls us “sheep” for a reason. We are so monumentally stupid.

God does answer the prayer of an unbeliever.

You are right. It is a question of heart, not intellect. I am a theological doofus and will probably always be one. Hence, I have nothing intellectually profound to say on this matter.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” – Revelation 3:20, KJV

Try it. Invite Jesus into your life. He tells us to do that.

I hope this helps.

"Try it. Invite Jesus into your life. He tells us to do that."

Quite the 'heart warming' act of trying to gloss over the using of the forum to make a sales pitch.

But I am sure Allah will forgive you; eventually anyway.

I had the same sort of experience with Odin.

Peak experiences are cool--just don't mistake yours for universal truth.

Truth is we know so little about ourselves and the universe we are a part of that it's easy to mistake emotions originating from where we know not for spiritual experiences, especially when we put ourselves within any environment that promotes such experience.

Modern churchianity probably looks "very" little like it did to the original followers of Jesus/Yahshua. The PTB killed him for His teachings, and he warned that they would also kill his adherents. He was right, and I believe that they killed damn near everyone of His followers before "falsely" claiming to be followers.

Today's churches would have you blindly accept bullshit man-made doctrines having nothing to do with the spirituality that most yearn to experience (naturally I might add). Modern Christianity threatens rather than loves, demands rather than invites, and creates animosity even amongst those searching for answers within the churches.

Modern churches are bribed / blackmailed by their 501(C)(3) tax exempt status to promote State doctrines, not God's agenda. Does anyone ask themself how is it that such a wonderous, mysterious, awesome and beautiful universe would avail itself to such an evil and sick element like those leading the churches and the State ?

Jesus, (and others have) said I am light (intelligence), truth, life, the way, etc., while those that murdered him were materialist banker scum and their political enforcers.

Christianity as we know it has devolved into a brainwashing system that demands faith or belief as a prerequisite to something described as salvation. Christianity as we know it has sprung from a collusion between government and religionists under Constantine, and has never veered from this corrupted origin.

God is life giving not a death merchant. Man has turned God's glory and majesty of life into a war making religious argument for very evil purposes operated by the vilest of men.

When the day arrives that we begin to consider our neighbor's well being more important than our own we will have met God. To some this is unimportant, to me it's the primary purpose of life. The constant noise of social disturbance such as TV, Radio, material aspirations, and selfishness hinders or blocks out completely the silence and meditative state that I believe is required for truly spiritual experience.

noone222, as usual, nailed it.

You wont find Christianity in any form of media or denomination. I have caught them blatantly lying about what scripture explicitly says, and it is not just lying about the small things either. When their traditions contradict scripture, they change scripture or just ignore it.

It is madness.

I see most, if not all churches as being nothing more than personality cults or as places where people just go to every Sunday just because it's the thing to do, or to see and be seen by others. The churches are dead.

It seems to me that we have grown up in an age of falsehood and deception that's being carried out to our detriment by those we have been taught to trust, at every level of our social experience.

The religious realm does like you say by twisting scriptures to fit their agenda or by ignoring the very documents that allegedly formed their foundations. These churchists ignore scriptures that might inform their congregations to elements that have always stirred unhappiness, wickedness and war.

Governments do exactly the same thing by twisting fundamental principles to fit some higher agenda and in the U.S. today it seems apparent that the founding principles serve no useful purpose for those intent upon dominating our future.

Both entities, government and church, are agencies of control that have a combined (blind) support base of mind numbed morons that makes up 75-85 % of the population. This condition is historically true and has proven to kill the best and brightest minds to ever walk the earth. [Nothing new under the sun].
