Can someone explain to me how Bob Barr is a libertarian?

If I recall, wasn't he as of a couple of years ago a pro-life, pro-drug war, anti-gay marriage Republican?

There is more than one flavor of libertarian, and there is no ideological purity test to be a libertarian.

For myself I am what is called a Paleolibertarian (Paleocon on some issues - or "Minarchist" courtesy of my anarchist friends) and I see no problem with Barr holding "impure" positions. I don't agree with him on some issues but he has come a long ways in just a few years from a conservative GOPer to a newly minted supporter of the Constitution.

It should be obvious to all intelligent adults (sorry to leave you out FReeptards) that the GOP does not stand in support of the Constitution. If Bob Barr is willing to then Bully!
