OK gang, I'm here to report my results from the MOMENTOMETER MPG device I told you about on here about 3 weeks back. 2004 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan I normally get about 280 mile out of a tank of gas with the first tank useing the device I got 303. On the second tank after I got used to the MOMENTOMETER I got 318 on a tank of gas. I burn 87 octane Shell or BP. It's a better quality gas but it should not matter to much. All of thye gas stations now are the same price by a couple of cents so why not burn the good stuff. Make sure your tires are filled properly and always keep your vehicle clean (less drag). Clean your fuel system to insure proper injector efficiency. I found a product on Alex Jones show called SFR 1. It was invented by Exxon Mobile to run in they're vehicles. There seems to be some pretty strong anecdotal evidence that adding acetone to your fuel at a ratio of 3oz to 10 gal fuel will increase fuel mileage somewhat. I'm trying it in my '93 GMC S-15 p/u with a 4.3 litre V-6 w/throttle body injection. Typically the vehicle only gets about 14mpg. 29,000 mi on the clock. It's pre-OBD2 so I won't be able to monitor it very accurately, but what the hell, if it helps the mileage so much the better. Can't hurt anything, most OTC fuel additives & fuel system cleaners have a high percentage of acetone in them, so damage to the fuel system is highly unlikely. Supposedly the acetone reduces the surface tension of the fuel aiding vaporization, personally, I'm guessing that the solvent helps prevent gack from forming in the injectors. I dunno, we'll see what happens. Google "acetone in fuel" if you're interested. You'll get a bazillion hits. Seems everybody has written about this.
A K&N lifetime air filter got me 10% improvement in gas mileage. I also use cruise control a lot more, and start coasting earlier when stopping.
