Agreed. I love "home arts". I have quilts hanging on my walls with more in the planning stages.

The Great 20th Century Art Scam (Art Renewal Center) I don't know a lot about art, but I'm with you....I like realism, and marvel that people can recreate it on paper or canvas. A long, long time ago, by accident, I wandered into a modern art exhibit of stripes at Darthmouth, or some such place. I don't even remember exactly which Ivy League school it was. It was so quiet and solemn in there you could hear a pin drop. A woman was sitting at a desk guarding all these "treasures" [edit: that a child or even I could have painted]. Something about the situation struck me as extremely hilarious, and it was all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing while I frantically searched for the way out of there. Once out, I couldn't refrain any more, and laughed until it hurt. Looking back, I wish I had said to her something like, the emperor wears no clothes! That's a very interesting and informative link you gave. Thank you....bookmarking it.
