I went to the National Grange convention in November after 9/11. It was held in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I came out of my hotel room to find the maid all a fluster. Seems there was some white powder in the room next to mine. I assured her that it was corn starch used by my fellow grange member who was rather large and needed to ease chaffing. I was amazed to think that someone could be that stupid to think that terrorists would be operating in a small hotel in Cedar Rapids Iowa of all places.

But you are right, they probably would not hit LA or SF. St. Louis maybe?

BTW, two weeks ago I compared a newspaper flood photo of Cedar Rapids with Google satellite shots and I realized that three bridges that cross the river near Mays Island were submerged!

Jesus!

The poor people of Cedar Rapids are screwed!

From a crop newsletter that I receive -

Dear Friends,

I have clients in the Oakville, Iowa area.

One of them called me this morning to tell me about the unimaginable devastation to animals, buildings, crops, equipment, fields, grain, homes, and people that has occurred from broken levees that has flooded about 18,000 acres in his area. The depth of the water is from 3 to 26 feet.

He asked me to pray for all of these farmers that they might have Guidance, Wisdom and Hope.

Likewise, he asked me to ask all of you to do the same.

If there are others of you in desperate need of these kinds of prayers and help, please let me know.

Thank you for sharing the burdens.
