Would anyone even care if Los Angeles got hit? Maybe Mexico would care, but most Americans would view that as being nearly Biblical. The only thing more Biblical would be Las Vegas being hit.

I don't think they will be canceled. They want to keep up the illusion that we have a say so. That would shatter the illusion for almost all. I would welcome the cancelling of the election. What did Bush used to say...yeah...bring it on.
All the speculations about Clinton or Bush finding a way to stay in power after their 2d term miss the point. Clinton and Bush were put their to represent the interests of the ruling elite. Why would they bother rocking the boat by keeping one of their puppets in power past the second term when they can find a fresh-faced puppet to take their place. McCain and Obama are just as good at taking orders from those who really call the shots as Bush or Clinton.

Clinton... Fast forward Clinton one year to 9/11 on his watch, would your opinion change? Clinton lacked a "cause celebre", we did not have DHS and the Gestapo in place at that time. Bush has put everything in place, either for himself or for some designated person. Recall Rudy Giuliani tried to stay on as Mayor of NYC and Bloomberg had to tell him to take a hike.

I went to the National Grange convention in November after 9/11. It was held in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I came out of my hotel room to find the maid all a fluster. Seems there was some white powder in the room next to mine. I assured her that it was corn starch used by my fellow grange member who was rather large and needed to ease chaffing. I was amazed to think that someone could be that stupid to think that terrorists would be operating in a small hotel in Cedar Rapids Iowa of all places. But you are right, they probably would not hit LA or SF. St. Louis maybe?

BTW, two weeks ago I compared a newspaper flood photo of Cedar Rapids with Google satellite shots and I realized that three bridges that cross the river near Mays Island were submerged! Jesus! The poor people of Cedar Rapids are screwed!

Wow. My hotel was right on the river across from the Quaker oats plant.

One of them called me this morning to tell me about the unimaginable devastation to animals, buildings, crops, equipment, fields, grain, homes, and people that has occurred from broken levees that has flooded about 18,000 acres in his area.
