But this spring, Ms. Nordling, a 19-year-old student from Fort Thomas, Ky., gave herself a new middle name on Facebook.com, mimicking her boyfriend and shocking her father. With her decision, she joined a growing band of supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, who are expressing solidarity with him by informally adopting his middle name. -Snip

Why it is true. Ask any genetics savvy person why hybrids are so vigorous. I was married to a woman of African heritage and our son and grand kids are smart and very healthy flourishing. And this next century's end will see many more people of mixed racial heritage and a people past the tipping point of caring about the irrational viewpoint you express here about the fact that there will be, Race is a minor aspect about a person. I don't give a rip about color or other trappings of race, I care about what kind of person they are overall.

You know, it is awful hard to say you would do better then another man in a given situation; but I do know one thing. In 1980 when activists discovered Japanese fishermen on Iki Island butchering bottle nosed dolphins for having the audacity to eat fish like they had been doing for centuries, one angrily bullied one of them to take a machete and whack at a dying cetacean in order to save his hide from the wrath of these angry, self righteous and greedily blood thirty swine. He complied, and saved his ass. I would of made the guy handing me the machete shorter with his body starting at the knee joints instead of his smelly feet. I have no doubt about that at all.

Dolphins suffer at the hands of Japanese fisherman, it is true. But I also hold Canadian East Coast commercial "hunters" in great contempt for their annual slaughter of 300,000 baby seals. And the Canadian gubment does ZERO to stop this monumental travesty in inhumanity.
I fully agree. We had someone shoot Sea Lions that had been snared in a live trap near a fish ladder where they had been feeding to move them. This was some kind of a "real man" to use a high powered rifle to break Federal law regarding this endangered species. It's always seemed to me that there's nothing more self-righteous than an animal rights activist. They think they're so damned morally superior to the rest of us because they don't kill animals and don't eat meat. Human beings are the most highly evolved creatures on earth, and that gives us every right to kill lower life forms for food, or because they stand in our way. I support conservation from the standpoint of sustaining our natural resources (I'm all for preventing overfishing or clear-cutting so that there will be fish and timber for the next generation), but not because other animals have any "rights." Being at the top of the evolutionary ladder ought to give us some perks.
Tursiops truncatus (also T. aduncus), which is the bottle nosed dolphin has a larger brain with more cortical surface area then we have. The brain is tucked and folded because the outer part of the neocortex us the thinking part of this newest part of the brain evolutionarily speaking. They remember 12 to 14 nonsense syllables to the human 6 to 3, can gage each other's emotion using radar to check out physiological factors that change with emotional states, which is different then us as we use facial recognition to do this. Sorry bud, they are as intelligent or more intelligent then us little old opposing thumb primates. We have hands and our younger species has been effective thriving and grabbing as much of the planet they can, but we have no call to kill FELLOW animals this smart and this evolved. These people have so badly polluted half their continental shelf, many dolphin pods live and compete with fishermen crowded into what is still habitable for cetacean and fish. They herded these dolphins into Iki Island harbor and waded into them hacking and clubbing. The dolphins - with 188 sharp, conical teeth - never attacked their attackers. Ethical reasons? Hard to say, we don't have a language interface with them yet. And they do have one. These Japanese fishermen ground up their fish competitors for dog food. They still murder dolphins, and this will stop.

I go bow hunting most every year bubba, and I eat meat. I have studied cetaceans and agree with Dr. John C. Lilly's cutting edge work on their intelligence. If the Chinese had jealously guarded their invention of gunpowder and been ruthlessly imperialistic, one could then postulate that Han Chinese are inherently superior to all other races as they rule so much of the Earth. Yours' is a false premise. You are correct, they do not have hands, but they have been documented using tools and the physics of water in an incredibly intuitive way. That you are so specio-centric you cannot see farther off the end of your nose then a flat Earther once did is no concern of mine. That is your problem. Lilly's website is still up and running, and I recommend any of several books and research papers by him for a truly enlightened idea about why dolphins are peers, not prey.

I once read an article about how even sharks could figure out that when they swim up to grab seagulls from the surface of the water, the force of the water pushes the bird away, and so adjust their aim to compensate after a few trial and error misses. Does that make sharks our "peers" too? Besides, I have no problem with the notion that northern Asians are as smart or smarter in certain ways than Europeans. IQ studies seem to support this (so much for IQ tests being "Eurocentric" if Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans do as well or better than we do), and their kids seem to do a hell of a lot better in school than ours do.

That leaves white Americans with McKOOK or no vote or a fruitless write in.

None of them will reference a mirror if you put a spot of paint on them where they would need to look to see it. Too much abstract thought is involved. But a dolphin will. They have a well developed sense of their individuality much as we do with frontal lobes which is the part of the brain responsible for this that are much like ours. Lilly once was playing a tone at a higher and higher pitch to a dolphin in a sling early on in his research. She would vocalize to let him know she heard it. Her vocalizations started to get higher and higher in pitch too until Lilly could see her vocalize but heard no sound. Only instriments picked that up. She had tested him right back, figuring out what he was doing. The Earth Island Institute has done tests with dolphins in different sides of a pool showing one a series of shapes on a touch screen to hit to get fish. They would vocalize, and the other dolphin would listen then press the right sequence for a treat. I should mention training dolphins is completely unlike that done with a dumber animal. They are usually quite bored and willing to cooperate, picking things up instantly. You should read more on the topic, you have no idea what you are missing on this topic.

Civilized nations are considered so because civilized people have the intelligence and heart, humanity of you will, to recognize that some beings are special and need protection, even though they cannot build cities.
