
City rampant with shooting and stabbings

Advertisement TRENTON Street violence plagued the city over the weekend following a serious Friday night assault in the West Ward that sent a man to the hospital with a brain bleed, according to Trenton police.
An unidentified 35-year-old city man suffered the serious head injury during an assault about 11 p.m. Friday on the 760th block of Stuyvesant Avenue, police said, adding he was in critical condition yesterday at Capital Health System-Fuld Campus hospital. A police spokesman said it wasnt clear what the perp did to inflict the victims brain bleed injury.
A serious stabbing occurred a few hours after that assault, and on Saturday afternoon a house was shot multiple times and a thug robbed a woman of $800, police said.
Police arrested 68-year-old John Willis of Ewing for allegedly slashing a city man across the neck, arm and chest with a kitchen steak knife about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Tommy Culver, 52, was listed in serious condition yesterday after undergoing emergency surgery to treat the wounds, police said.
An unknown assailant approached Flerida Sanchez de Rodriguez on the 400 block of Lalor Street, knocked her to the ground and then yanked her $800 about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Trenton cops. De Rodriguez, 44, of Warminster, Pa., described the perp as a thin 20-year-old black male, police said.
Four hours later, unknown shooters fired multiple gunshots at a house on the 900 block of Chestnut Avenue, according to Trenton police. No one was injured during the shooting.
