SF 'Sanctuary' Policy Questioned After Escape

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5/KCBS/BCN) 53; An effort by San Francisco to shield eight young Honduran crack dealers from federal immigration officials backfired when the youths escaped from Southern California group homes within days of their arrival.

This is the latest in a string of embarrassments for city officials who are protecting illegal-immigrant drug dealers from federal authorities and possible deportation.

Until recently, San Francisco flew juvenile illegal immigrants convicted of drug crimes to their home countries rather than cooperate with the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.

When Federal authorities demanded that San Francisco halt the flights and begin a criminal investigation, the city decided to house some of the dealers in long-term youth rehabilitation centers.

I'm sure the San Francisco law abiding worker bee taxpayers are thrilled to learn about how SF City officials mis-spent tax dollars all these years on this ridiculous sanctuary agenda.Every elected official or paid gov't employee who participated in aiding and abetting illegals in violation of federal laws should be arrested asap on orders from the Attorney General's Office.

I couldn't agree more. And if any of these escaped dogs commit additional crimes while out, I pray some shark lawyer removes a few hundred million from the city coffers. That town might be the worst in the nation.

Absolutely - everything you said.

It's one thing for municipalities to say - hey, illegal aliens fall within federal jurisdiction so our hands are tied by law re: questioning people about their legal status or apprehending illegals simply because of suspected illegal status.

But it is an entirely different kettle of fish when municipalities are consciously trying to thwart, subvert federal laws by using taxpayer $ to comfort and aid and abet illegals by implementing their own home- grown procedures.

This type of anti-America personal agenda-ism at the municipal level cannot go unpunished by the Attorney General's Office. Also San Francisco should have all federal monies pulled immediately. This is anarchy.

I understand it cost $7k a month to keep these illegals hidden from the law. I thought liberals had a survival instinct, but I guess I was wrong.

Has not the bankrupt 'city' of san fransicko started an illegal alien shuttle service to points SOUTH?!

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams
