Two Israeli Beduin from the Negev town of Rahat were charged Wednesday with plotting terrorist attacks via the Internet with al-Qaida members overseas and marking out civilian and military sites as targets. They were arrested in late May and early June in a joint Israel Police-Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) operation. The indictment filed against them on Wednesday in the Beersheba District Court accuses them of membership in a terrorist organization, aiding the enemy during a time of war and transferring information to the enemy with intent to harm national security. Both suspects confessed during their interrogations. "These are not Palestinians from the West Bank or Gaza - they're Israeli residents, and we view this episode with extreme severity," said F.-Sgt Moti Azor, head of the Hostile Enemy Activities Unit in Lahish, part of the Southern Police District. "They're Israelis who were raised in this country. They really crossed the line and made contact with the worst of our enemies in order to attack us." "Taher was the first to go to on-line al-Qaida sites after becoming indoctrinated through the Islamic Movement. He was asked by al-Qaida members for targets to attack in Israel, and responded by sending information on Ben-Gurion Airport, the Ashkelon power plant, the Beersheba central bus station and targets in Eilat," Azor said. "He provided information on where terrorists could enter Israel via the West Bank, and where they could hide out in the desert after an attack. At a certain stage in the communication, Omar asked to be put in touch with fighters in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. He was plotting attacks that could harm his own family." "He [Taher] then told his cousin Omar to join the Web site, giving him a username and password. They visited 10 Islamist sites, all from their home in Rahat. The suspects used an array of programs aimed at hiding their Internet activities and erasing their tracks," Azor said. Taher's father was arrested and then released on bail in connection with the investigation, Azor said. "This is not about a few kids surfing the Internet. They intended to cause harm, and they admit to doing it for ideological reasons. This was done with malicious intent. In court, the suspects, who are now worried, showed some regret, saying they should have stopped themselves. But this regret is insincere - they don't regret it. We have exposed an al-Qaida cell in Israel," Azor said. Police and the Shin Bet would continue to hunt for jihadi cells in Israel, Azor vowed, adding that he hoped the recent arrests would deter Israeli Arab youths from visiting al-Qaida affiliated sites. This is not the first time that Israeli-Arabs have been charged with maintaining contacts with al-Qaida. In December, two Israeli Arabs from Jaljulya in the Triangle were arrested for allegedly planning al-Qaida inspired attacks on Israeli targets. The suspects told their interrogators that they had been influenced by al-Qaida's philosophy and used to spend hours surfing global jihad Web sites and listening to speeches by radical Islamic preachers.

Uh-huh. It just goes to show you that some young folks aren't mature or resourceful enough to pull the facts together and see that there's a high prob that Al Qaeda is a US asset. For instance, before I joined up (hypothetically speaking of course) I'd ask a few questions like; If Al Qaeda and the US govt worked together to boot the Ruskies out of Afghanistan even to the point of the US supplying Stinger heat-seeking MANPADs to knock down those fearsome gunships, (even though the rebels would not allow US soldiers to fight with them because it was a holy crusade that would have suffered through the inclusion of "infidels") Just when did this working relationship against a common enemy sour and end? I don't recall any announcement by the US to the effect that "Our former palz stuck us in the butt and they're now the enemy!". Do you? In all the jibber jabber about Al Qaeda in the news for the past seven years, not one firm date or incident has ever been offered to explain when or why they fell out of America's favor. You'd think that would be a great story and a major milestone in history, right? Otherwise, (with an honest watchdog media asking the obvious) someone would have to admit that some "rads" decided that the US is the enemy and some didn't. And, that would raise the question of just which ones are supposedly the enemy who sneak attacked us and made monkeys out of NORAD on that terrible day. I mean, for an enemy they sure delivered a wonderful present to PNAC, BushCo and the military industrial complex, not to mention Larry Silverstein, Israel and all of the ENRON defendants and yet to be named co-conspirators who were set free as WTC 7 turned to fairie dust before our very eyes. No, I think it's quite likely that US intel has always maintained a friendly working relationship with some young, easily manipulated rebels and even Osama himself, whose family has a wonderful relationship with BushCo through Bechtel and other Saudi investments in the US. Knowing what I know about the US govt since they murdered my president, (govt can't tell two consecutive truths as a matter of principle-they must lie to us or they feel foolish for having told us too much truth) who in his right mind would seek out a group with any possible US connections, however remote? I mean, it's a well known fact that if I want to hang around govt agents I could join the Klux. And, "over there" it's Al Qaeda that acts as a clearing house for sabre rattling radicals of low intelligence.
They say that if you are looking for an FBI agent that a Klan gathering is the first place you should look. Odds are just about 100% that they have infiltrated it.

A former Nazi/Klan acquaintance showed me a heavily redacted FBI memo obtained under the FOIA, and it said that every Klavern in MS was infiltrated including one that was made up entirely of govt agents without a single honest-to-by-GAWD slanty-eyed inbred Kluxer! After the 1979 incident in Greensboro, NC where the CWP called out the Klan and the result was five dead commies, the resulting criminal trial clearly revealed that the Klan was manipulated into answering the challenge, and the local police were conspicuously absent from the area. In that case the textile mill magnates wanted dead commies who were trying to organize future brown lung victims, and of course the police and the establishment like the Klux better than the reds, most of whom were Jews from New York. And, even though none of the pointy heads were convicted (but they later lost a few Gs each in a civil suit) they were manipulated to nip the red bud of union activism in NC, and I dare say that they didn't accomplish much for the white race by allowing the mills to operate as they always have, with dust so thick that lung ailments remain a preventable occupational hazard that the owners won't pay to prevent.
You could be right. Just as Jews are well represented in American "Nazi" groups, I suppose they'll be found in groups that upset their parents in Israel, too. It's like rich parents who send their kids to Brandeis only to get commies and anti corporate Rainbow Warriors back for the holidays! DISAPPOINTED!!!

Well, it's been said that because they were Jewish, they were forgiven and even spoke at some black churches and explained how they were going to pursue their "common interests with blacks" in the fight against racism. But, unfortunately, Victor Thorn cites The_Skunk as his source who I know quite well from Liberty Forum, and he has been known to speculate wildly in the absence of evidence. Yes, the German film (with subtitles) entitled UNTER FALSCHER FLAGGE is excellent. There are actually more than a few references to the fact that the SEC, Secret Service, IRS and FBI offices in WTC7 contained files from ongoing criminal investigations of the financial swindle industry.
