As the poet said, all America is now an insane asylum... and Bush continues to prove it as he out-Clintons Clinton.

by Mike Wood

"Everything you know is wrong. Black is white. Up is down. Short is long..." -- Weird Al Yankovic song

IT'S IN the Bible, you know... something about "that which is good shall be called sin, and that which is sin shall be called good." That's paraphrased, of course, but you get the idea. George Orwell presented the same idea in a different format, in his 1984. He called it "doublespeak." It's the ability to say one thing that would ordinarily mean what you think it means, but it means exactly the opposite. This is a frightening enough thing when you read about it, but when you start seeing it everywhere you look in modern society, it's enough to give you the Hebe-jeebies -- literally.

This isn't a matter of turning black-and-white issues into shades of grey, as the typical Christian patriot likes to accuse people of doing, people he calls "secular humanists." It's far worse than that. It's a matter of calling black white; and white, black.

For example, it was, at one time, popular to be heterosexual. One was an outcast if one did not find members of the opposite sex attractive. Now, it's nearly the other way around. There's something wrong, it seems, with heterosexual people who think any other way is abnormal. If you don't think 'gay' people are just the coolest, you need therapy.

I suppose you're wondering why I bring this up. Well, it's because my political stance has changed. I haven't changed, mind you, but my stance has. Wha..? Let me explain.

I was once a conservative. I believe in lower taxes, lower government spending, personal responsibility and rights, non-interventionism overseas, and closed borders. I was therefore a conservative, and a Republican. Well, maybe I was just young and foolish, or maybe it really was a different era. The passage of years can change our perspective on where we once were.

Not too long after that, I discovered libertarian philosophy. No, Libertarian Party open-borders dweebs, I'm not talking about you. Okay, so it wasn't a recent discovery for me, as it's what I already believed in. I just had a new name for it now, and it still seemed that Republicans were the party of the libertarian ideal. It meant smaller government, fewer taxes, less control, and more independence.

Now we can put that into the context of the Clinton years. Here was a president who violated every ideal I had, with the sole exception of possibly getting some at work. He raised taxes and increased federal spending. He took away rights, most importantly by increasing the amount of anti-gun legislation. He triggered minor wars overseas several times, including the famous aspirin factory bombing, and the heinous attack on Serbia. He cut funding to the Border Patrol and increased the funding to programs that Mestizos come to take advantage of. And, to top that off, he sold nuclear secrets to China for campaign contributions, and gave them to Israel for free. By any account, and if you have even half a brain that is able to contrast Clinton's behavior with the requirements of the Constitution, you would have no trouble arriving at a verdict of Guilty As Hell Of Treason, High Crimes, And Misdemeanors. Any reasonably intelligent judge would throw the book at this clown.

Naturally, Slick Willy's shenanigans aroused the ire of patriotic, red-blooded Americans, almost entirely Republicans. Loosely knit organizations sprang up from the fertile soil of the Midwest, Northwest, and Great White North. We saw the rise of the Michigan Militia, the Militia of Montana, and the like, and we heard from lots of men like Jack McLamb and Bo Gritz and I can't think of who else at the moment. The mid-90s were the era of the right-wing extremists, and I was one of them. There's no shame in it either, since we stood for exactly the same things as the brave men who founded this country.

Then, in 2000, a Republican once again became the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. After eight years of Clinton, all was well again, and the right wing went back to sleep. Not once since the election (some would dispute the notion that it was an election) of Gee Dubya have we heard so much as a peep from the Militia of Montana, or any other of the outspoken "patriots" of the 90s. Did they just fade into the woodwork, content once again to sleep because the Guy in the Cowboy Hat had an "R" by his name? Or was there something more sinister at work here? Could some of these "patriots" have been agitators, paving the way for the rise to power of Gee Dubya and the neo-con Jewish fascists? I truly hope not.

As we now suffer through fifth year of the reign of King George, we are looking at a president who at every possible level

has out-Clintoned Clinton. We've been told there have been tax cuts, of course, but unless your last name is "Inc." or "Corp." you haven't seen a reduction in the amount of per annum lightening of your wallet. The increases in federal spending due to excessive warmongering are simply staggering, and he presents the GDP (Generally Dumb Public) with a budget that looks good, but it doesn't include "defense" spending. (Note: "defense" would refer to protecting Israel, not America.)

Not one gun law has been repealed, but his buddy Ahnold in California has been busy banning certain classes of firearms. We certainly can't ignore the Middle Eastern interventionism on behalf of The Holy Nation Above All Nations, and border control? What border control? In his most recent blathering, El Presidente confirmed his love for the hardworking, decent, family-values oriented Mexican peasants who only want jobs unemployed Americans used to have, and outlined his plan for amnesty. I can see the masses of fresh taco-benders lining up at the border now. And don't get me started about the euphemistically-termed "technology transfers" to every possible enemy we could ever have on the planet.

If Clintonian governance was "liberal," then I was anything but a liberal. Everything the man did was completely against the vision of Jefferson and Franklin and Paine and Adams. I was pretty sure Clinton's picture would someday appear in a dictionary next to the word "traitor." But what he did was nothing compared to the "new conservatism." At every turn, Bush has taken Clinton's policies closer to their logical extremes.

And the same people who hated Clinton for all of that -- practically worship Bush! People who once had bumper stickers reading "Get the US out of the UN" and "They can have my gun when they pry it from my cold dead fingers" now have "W-04" stickers. Being a conservative now means that you like increased federal spending and control, you like bombing sovereign countries for no good reason, you like less freedom and fewer rights, you like open borders, and you like globalism. The idea of dragging America down to the economic level of China appeals to you.

Conservatives have now become liberals, and liberals are now conservatives. Up is down. If you're against globalism and tyranny and taxes and pointless war, you're a leftist. Black is white. If you think constitutional rights are "outdated" and that free speech only applies to speech in favor of the current regime, you are now a conservative. Short is long.

I am a patriot to the core. I truly love my country. It's in my blood because of that long chain of my ancestors who built it. My forebears sweated and bled for it. Now, the treacherous vermin in Washington, District of Criminals, are giving it to Israel and China and Korea and Mexico. And they have the nerve to call ME unpatriotic.

how hard it is for us, the americans, to watch our country be destroyed from within and turned upside down.

The bible tells us not to be deceived in these last days. the bible tells us the world will be turned upside down and just like the article says that good will be considered bad and vice versa, all the things that people through the many generations took for granted as normal are all of a sudden turned upside down, that's what it says. and the people are left to choose. Choose life and have life everlasting life. Or choose death instead. It is your choice. The day will come when god will judge us. He has told us what is good and what is bad. It is for us to choose now. Do not be deceived.

The American nation is the bloom of all mankind. it is the best nation ever. But all nations are made by god. We are too proud to think it is our accomplishment. But the achievements of man are of no consequence, they are nothing. We are set up to believe in man, but we are wrong to do that. god who raised the american nation up, can swat it down just as easily. History unfolds so that god can tell the story he wants to tell. It does not unfold for our benefit.

Yep, these people are entirely without principle and willfully stupefied just as the clintonoids were. They idolize a man--a bad man.

I saw an SUV the other day with the W-04 sticker in the window and then a bumper sticker that said "President Bush, He shares our values."

I want to thank each of you who contributed to this thread, it is great to be part of something like 4 where real Americans can get together and support each other and discuss issues like this.
These are sad times for our Republic and I think whether a person is a believer or not, it is clear that these are some sort of very evil times and that something wicked looms on the horizon.

That pretty much bats it out of the park for me.

Now, what the hell do we DO about it? The whole game is set to pendulum us back and forth between nearly identical Demoncrats and Wreckpublicans. Crap, as dumb as the majority is, finding an area in the sticks with like minded folks to weather out a whole world of shit is looking better and better every day...

It surely does.
As far as what vehicle may yet arise to combat the situation we find ourselves in today I would only say that it isn't quite here yet.
In the meanwhile your suggestion is a good one.

Terrence McKenna lived on a mountain in Hawaii and had no connections or hookups to utilities. He had phone service, internet service, electricity all via his own electrical source and a little sattelite. No matter how remote, say even Austin, TX, it is still possible to stay in contact with the modern world ;)
