BERLIN, July 11 (UPI) -- A 91-year-old German man who was Adolf Hitler's main bodyguard says in his book, "The Last Witness," the Nazi leader was "a good boss."

Rochus Misch, the only person still alive who was present in Hitler's bunker when he killed himself in 1945, discusses his personal opinions of the Fuhrer in the book, published this month in Germany, Haaretz reported.

Misch became part of Hitler's "inner circle" in 1940, when he began working as a bodyguard, courier and assistant in the German leader's office.

"In the inner circle, Hitler was a good boss. In the living quarters and the work room Hitler was a very relaxed man. He had a deep and quiet voice. There was no need to be scared if you made a mistake," Misch says in the book.

So it was more pleasant to work for Hitler than it is to work for Morgan Stanley's head of technology?

That makes sense, actually.

I've already said too much.

No doubt the you-know-whoooos will clamor until the little old man is given a life sentence in prison. At least it won't cost the taxpayers much.

Good point.

Wonder if dude thought of that when penning his manuscript...

Reminds me of a multi-course meal we had one evening in France - in the adjoining room were a bunch of old German guys, very well lubricated, breaking into the songs of their youth whenever the spirit(s) moved.

It became a pain in the ass after a couple of hours.

I love that bit. ;-)

Did they get better, or worse, in general? ;-)

Generally, they got more drunk, and we ate more rapidly.

Like most of my experiences, it was a 'been there, and the bastards didn't even give me a t-shirt' evening.

Not to be repeated type event.

At least they didn't jump in some Panzer tanks and start blitzkrieging their way across the countryside!! ;-)

I swear, those guys HAD to be rolled outta there. I was close, but, thank God, I wasn't the wheel-man that night.

It was crazy.
