Canadian Parliament Considers 911 Resolution

A Resolution introduced to the Canadian Parliament by Member of Parliament Libby Davies, Vancouver East, (see this video) to immediately launch its own investigation into the events of 9-11 on behalf of the 24 Canadian citizens murdered in New York City. New Democratic Party Deputy House Leader Libby Davies delivers a Parliamentary Petition signed by over 500 Canadians demanding a new 9/11 investigation, in Canada's House of Commons during Routine Proceedings at 1:10 pm on June 10, 2008

Here is the full text of the petition, available to sign at www.ipetitions.com/petition/ca...

PETITION TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED

We, the undersigned citizens of Canada draw the attention of the House to the following:

THAT, scientific and eyewitness evidence shows that the 9/11 Commission Report is a fraudulent document and that those behind the report are consciously or unconsciously guilty of covering up what happened on 9/11/2001. This evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that World Trade Center Towers 1, 2 and 7 were brought down by demolition explosives and that the official theory of the towers collapsing from the airplanes and the ensuing fires is irrefutably false.

We further believe that elements within the US government were complicit in the murder of thousands of people on 9/11/2001. This event brought Canada into the so-called "War on Terror," it changed our domestic and foreign policies for the worse, and it will continue to have negative consequences for us all if we refuse to look at the facts.

THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to:

(1) Immediately launch its own investigation into the events of 9/11/2001 on behalf of the 24 Canadian citizens murdered in New York City.

(2) Act lawfully on the findings of its own investigation by helping to pursue the guilty parties in the international courts.

Committed to truth and accountability. On behalf of the 3,000 persons murdered on U.S. soil on 9-11 the U.S. Congress is also obligated to commence a scientific criminal investigation of the events of 9-11 mindful of the fact that scientific and eyewitness evidence shows that the 9-11 Commission Report is a fraudulent document, those behind the report are covering up, the overwhelming scientific and eyewitness evidence supports the conclusion that World Trade Center Towers 1, 2, and 7, were brought down by demolition explosives, and the official theory of the towers collapsing from the airplanes and the ensuing fires is irrefutably false.

Furthermore, elements within the U.S. government may be complicit, and this event brought the United States into the so called "War on Terror" and changed our domestic and foreign policies for the worse, and it will continue to have negative consequences for all Americans if we refuse to look at the facts.

I looked at the website of Libby Davies and could not find anything relating to the progress/status of this 9/11 petition in Canada's parliament.

However I did find that a resolution her NDP party introduced in June did actually pass muster in the Canadian parliament re: allowing Iraq War resisters to stay in Canada.

I'm not sure if Harper is required to act on this resolution or even if he has the power to do so. I thought I read that this issue has already been decided by a Canadian Board of Refuge Commissioners or by some commission of that nature.

Maybe you can fill us in, wudidiz, on whether this House resolution will have any real impact on the Board's decision to deport US Iraq War resisters.

"NDP motion to let war resisters stay passes"

June 3, 2008 - OTTAWA - Iraq War Resisters residing in Canada received overwhelming support from the House of Commons following today’s passage of an NDP motion to let them stay in the country.

NDP Citizenship and Immigration critic, Olivia Chow’s (Trinity-Spadina) motion reflected ordinary Canadians’ belief that George Bush’s war in Iraq is wrong and that resisters should not be deported to jail.

The motion calls on the Harper Conservatives to allow American war resisters who have refused or left military service related to the illegal invasion of Iraq and their immediate family members to stay in Canada and be able to become permanent residents. Furthermore, the motion would force the government to immediately withdraw any removal or deportation orders against War Resisters.

NDP MP Bill Siksay (Burnaby Douglas), moved a similar motion a year ago on May 8, 2007 at the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. His motion was rejected by the Conservatives, Liberals and Bloc.

Through ongoing campaigns and mobilizations, supporters have finally been able to sway the Liberal and Bloc vote in support of the war resisters

“Ordinary people want the Iraq war resisters to stay,” said Chow. “The Harper Conservatives must respect this and immediately implement this motion.”

Although I have lived very close to Libby Davies' riding (Toronto) and both Bill Siksay's and Olivia Chow's (Vancouver), I honestly don't pay attention much to Canadian Politics anymore. I hardly ever watch TV and since Brian Mulroney (worst P.M. ever) was voted in again in the early '90s, I haven't voted.

I will, however pay attention some and let you know anything I come up with.

I do hope draft-dodgers/resisters will still be welcome here.

Yes, thank you, it can't be a bad thing when people speak up like that.

It would be nice to hear more of it.
