I remember an old Perry Mason book in which I read the following: "There has never been in the history of Los Angeles a period of more than 134 days without a murder. Imagine being a homicide detective in Los Angeles on the 134th day knowing that somewhere there will be a murder that day in Los Angeles and not knowing where and who." Contrast that to a more diverse Los Angeles of today. I saw a documentary on the Los Angeles morgue. An autopsy surgeon was filmed in the presence of two homicide detectives prior to an autopsy. The female coroner quipped"Looks like an LA natural to me." The black detective said, "I am a homicide detective and this man has a gunshot wound to his head. This is not natural causes." The woman said, "I know. In LA we get 12 to 13 deaths by gunshots every day so we call them LA natural."

The nomination of Obama and McCain will only go to show that our political establishment has lost all semblance of representation of our former values. It no longer represents the values stated in the Declaration of Independence, and in our Constitution. Of course the Clintons, the Obamas, the Bushes, and the McCains would probably admit that they prefer such a situation -- in so many words, if they were honest.
