I was watching Batman last night with my wife. AWESOME. It was so heavy is blew my mind. Today I have a headache. Go figure. Anyways, there was something in the movie that caught my attention, and I was wondering if anyone else had seen it. When Commissioner Lowe is poisoned by the Joker, at his funeral, the Mayor says something very interesting:

"Vigilance is the eternal price of security."

He actually said that. Did anyone else catch that?

haven't seen the movie, but isn't that a nice little subliminal (to most) message.

"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty"

That was the one line from Michael Bay's rejected script that survived.

Hollywood is very much in the PsyOps business sometimes through indirect outside influence sometimes directly.

That is why I believe The Star Wars Movies had to be made outside of the standard Hollywood system. They promote a view of good and evil, right and wrong, honorable versus base, that goes against the viewpoint and set of standards that has been pushed via movies. Lucas took a lot of heat for making them and I believe the criticism originated because of his views, as put forth in the movies, that hearkened back to a more humane and honorable set of standards.

And they have had an impact on the culture. The frequent comparisons between Duhbya Maul, Darth Cheney, and the evil empire are one indicator.

"The difference between an honorable man and a moral man is that an honorable man regrets a discreditable act even when it has worked and he is in no danger of being caught." ~ H. L. Mencken
