A homeowner has listed the former Phoenix house of presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain for $12 million, close to four times what the owner paid Cindy McCain for it in December 2006.

I lived in Phoenix briefly, and since it's hotter than the surface of the Sun the folks have two choices-they can gut it out with an evaporative or "swamp" cooler, or run AC. It probably costs 3 Gs a month to cool that place.
It probably costs 3 Gs a month to cool that place. People who could afford $12 Million for a home are not going to cool it off with swamp coolers.
Right. Some may decide not to cool them at all, and to sell them to escape the Wells Fargo Armored Division's monthly visits to pick up the payment for the electric bill.... I was never so miserable as that summer in Hell/Phoenix in an apartment that only had a swamp kewler. I tried to acclimate to the desert heat by going out to shoot, and the mirage off the hot gun barrels distorted the sight picture so badly that it was a waste of time. And, after 15 minutes I was so hot and thirsty that I was feeling sorry for gilas and sidewinders.
