Friday Aug 1st, 2008 10:16 AM
In this commentary there is a certain amount of skepticism mixed with cautious optimism. Have a handful of brave, dedicated, concerned citizens and action groups slayed the North American Union monster? It is true that we have been afforded a sort of reprieve, and have been given a little breathing room. We might have the globalists on the ropes, but they aren’t about to throw in the towel just yet. They are in their corner regrouping, retooling, plotting a different strategy, looking for a weakness. They are predators, conniving, ruthless, arrogantly confident and at the same time highly motivated. Much of their agenda has already been achieved incrementally. At the same time, they are only human and make mistakes, and they can be defeated. They were counting on a dumbed down uninformed public, and what they got was resistance to their plans to create a North American Union.
The secrecy surrounding the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) and the vigour in which it was first launched might have very well been its undoing. The SPP might be doomed, but a North American Union still remains a priority, even if it does have to be placed on the back burner temporarily. Before the last Leader Summit in New Orleans, it was apparent that the agenda of deeper continental integration was in trouble. In many ways, we have managed to stall a North American Union, but we should not be lulled into a false sense of security. Don’t believe for a moment that the global elite have abandoned this vision.
This brings me to a recent article by Robert A Pastor that appeared in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) magazine Foreign Affairs. Pastor is considered one of the leading proponents and architects of a North American Community. If you are not familiar with the CFR, since their inception they have tirelessly pushed for world government and the destruction of a sovereign America. In his article titled “The Future of North America,” Pastor admits that his vision of a North American Community is all but dead. This is the same man who has denied that he has promoted the concept of a North American Union. If the SPP is indeed being used to advance deeper integration, it appears as if it might have hit a wall. It is also highly unlikely that those pushing this agenda will give up that easily. There is much at stake, and a lot of time, money, and resources have already been invested in furthering this cause.
Those pushing this agenda, like Pastor, view a North America without borders, and one where sovereignty is a thing of the past. They envision a people who see themselves as citizens of North America. This vision might have to be put on the shelf, but that doesn’t mean that it is dead. The timing isn’t right, and the SPP has created a firestorm of negative publicity. Pastor has said that another terrorist attack like 9/11 could create the right climate to further advance deeper integration. He is on record as saying, “a crisis is an event which can force democratic governments to make difficult decisions like those that would be required to create a North American Community.” This could also come in the form of an economic collapse, which could then be used to sell the virtues of a North American Union and a single currency to compete with the Euro.
To many in the business community, the SPP has been a huge disappointment in the sense that their recommendations aren’t being implemented fast enough. In April, the U.S. think tank the Hudson Institute stated, “it may ultimately be necessary to redesign and relaunch a new process to take up the work of the SPP under a new acronym.” Beware because under a new incarnation it could be seen as a victory when in reality nothing would have changed except for the name.
By all accounts, the SPP might have outlived its usefulness, but this might just be a bump in the road towards a North American Union. A time is coming soon when we will have to make even greater sacrifices in the struggle to stop the New World Order. It is important that we remain steadfast and preempt any other efforts to advance deeper integration. We must remain positive, proactive, and continue to expose this agenda and promote national sovereignty. In reality we haven’t won anything yet, but we do have a chance. Regardless, we have no choice but to continue this fight. If we are unsuccessful, the prospects will be a North American Union and the complete corporate takeover of the continent.
