I went to Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT to eat lunch and take some photos. Here are two birds that I've never seen before:

This bird looks like this one. Unfortunately, no mention is made of the breed.

This specimen is larger than a Canadian Goose.

The other bird that I saw is not a water fowl.

Can anyone identify them? (5 images)

Close, but the orange coloration isn't there, so I don't think that's it.

Domestic Swan Goose (Anser cygnoides)

Another species of goose that has been domesticated is the Swan Goose, native to eastern Eurasia and sometimes called a Chinese goose. A domestic swan goose usually has a large knob at the base of the bill (the wild form lacks this). It also can show a white patch behind the bill. It varies from wild type coloring (mostly gray with a dark line down the back of the otherwise white neck) to pure white.

Thank you!

I'm very surprised that this bird is domestic.

I searched for an hour before I posted about this bird.

I guess that the orange coloration is variable.

Again, thanks.
