Did U.S. officials know about Georgia's plans to attack its breakaway region? The issue deserves a special hearing in the U.S. Congress, according to American political commentator Pat Buchanan.

Did U.S. officials know about Georgia's plans to attack its breakaway region? The issue deserves a special hearing in the U.S. Congress, according to American political commentator Pat Buchanan.

"Georgia started the war - Saakashvili started the war - there's no doubt about that. The Russians knew he was coming because they were prepared clearly and acted immediately. The question is, did Condoleezza Rice know he was going to do this and did the president who was in Beijing know he was going to do this?" said Buchanan.

Pat Buchanan is smart. It is a pity the American people are stupid.

US envoy: Russia's first Georgia move legitimate

In rare American comment, ambassador to Moscow describes Kremlin's first military response as justified after Russian troops came under attack. Senior Georgian official says Russian forces leaving flashpoint city of Gori

The US ambassador to Moscow, in a rare US comment endorsing Russia's initial moves in Georgia, described the Kremlin's first military response as legitimate after Russian troops came under attack.

US officials, including President George W. Bush, have strongly criticized Moscow's subsequent action but have not focused on the initial chain of events that triggered the conflict between Russian and US-ally Georgia.

Whatever the reason, Americans have been indoctranated and dumbed down until they have little actual knowledge and are incapable of logical thinking.

There's basically no question about who fired the first shots in this conflict. Condi knows that, Cheney knows that, the neoconservatives know that, and even George Dumbya knows it.

You can say that Russia's response was out of proportion to the provocation (though you have to wonder how the US would respond to Cubans firing on US troops in Guantanamo Bay), but only ignorance or lying can make Russia the instigator. Of course, ignorance and lies are standard operating procedure for Fox News and the rest of the anti-Russian hysterics.
