DENVER - John McCain kept his vice presidential pick a closely guarded secret hours before the high-stakes announcement Friday as top prospects seemed to drop away and speculation moved to darkhorse candidate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Two GOP strategists close to the McCain campaign said all indications pointed to Palin, 44, a self-styled "hockey mom" and political reformer. The strategists spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by the McCain camp to discuss the matter. There was no confirmation from McCain or his advisers. With an announcement scheduled in Dayton, Ohio, an associate of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said the governor had been informed he is not McCain's pick. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for Pawlenty, who had all but ruled himself out.

A way nutty pick, IMO. If the Rs main argument against O is he isn't experienced enough to be president why would Depends choose Palin, who offers the Ds the same argument. PS: Will anyone here please close the borders.
I approve of Sarah Palin for Veep. Read her Wikipedia biography and you'll find out why VERY quickly. She's quite Libertarian on the civil liberties and social front.

The controllers have all the experience that's needed for our next sock-puppet. I have never found what the qualifications are for being president. There are none. Looking for a Saintly, intelligent, insightful politician is a rather absurd notion. The "system" throws out two owned candidates, the sheep rush to the polls to pick the "better" man. What a shameful waste of time. I will only vote for one type of person anymore, ie, the one that stands up and says, "I will do what is best for the country, I promise you nothing", sits down and that is his total campaign.
That right there disqualifies a person to be president unless they happen to be standing in Israel when they say it.
True, a shame is it not? I have heard all of the BS promises way back to and including Roosevelt, people were naive and gullible then and remain the same now. Paul promised us nothing, he did say what he would DO and the people gave him the back of their hand.
McInsane has picked a "MILF." And probably one he'd like to as well. I need to see her naked first before she has my vote.

Can you imagine any candidate on the platform telling able bodied Americans on the dole they had better FIND a job they like or he will give them one they WONT like if he is elected??? Can you imagine any candidate saying he will give illegals 90 days to leave the country or be hunted down and thrown out???? Of course not. That would be good for the country and we cannot have that.

You are correct, however there is a distinction that needs to be made. Fealty to Israel and pro war ARE not qualifications, rather they are prerequisites. "prerequisite" Noun.... something that is required before something else is possible Adjective.... required before something else is possible

Well... between a Jew, a Mormon and a Woman... I can't think of a 'good' choice for McCain. Obama's pick of Biden is probably a 0 on a scale from -10 to +10. McCain's pick of Putin would be a -5 because she makes McCain look old and tired, and her 'experience' is even lower than Obama's - and the McCains kept stressing 'experience' for the past few months. I think the Mormon would have been the better pick for McCain.

The only thing open to scrutiny about Palin is her position on Israel.. If she is pro Jew, then McKooK messed up. if not he may well win. Rendell was correct, white America is not ready for a black president.

I think I have this straight; McCain is half dead and goes on to choose an unknown female in hopes of grabbing some of the Hillary vote, which is mostly compromised of radical feminists who are pro abortion. Nice play there Johnny. Yeah.....I'll be sitting this one out (again).

I hate McCain and his PNAC pals to the point that it didn't matter to me who he picked. If he chose Ron Paul as his VP, I still wouldn't consider voting for him. But like I told JT, at least we didn't get Lieberman. I'll either vote third party or stay at home on election day on this one.

Most of the Christian Right would sooner support an atheist than a Mormon, and for once I agree with them. Mormonism is as loopy as Scientology. Anyone who thinks that American Indians are a lost tribe of Israel and that Jesus will be reborn in Independence Missouri isn't playing with a full deck.
