The introduction is about to begin.
Let's hear first impressions from everyone as this is happening.
Governor Palin is currently under investigation by an independent investigator hired by a legislative panel to determine if she abused her power when firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. [47][48] On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Walter Monegan as Commissioner of Public Safety and instead offered him a position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he subsequently turned down.[49][50] The Commisioner serves at the will of the governor, so her right to fire him is not in dispute; but Monegan alleged shortly after his dismissal that it may have been partly due to his reluctance to fire an Alaska State Trooper, Mike Wooten, who had been involved in a divorce and child custody battle with Palin's sister, Molly McCann.[51] In 2006, before Palin was governor, Wooten was briefly suspended for ten days for threatening to kill McCann's (and Palin's) father, tasering his 11-year-old stepson (at the stepson's request), and violating game laws. After a union protest, the suspension was reduced to five days.[52]
Palin replaced Monegan with Chuck Kopp, who had previously been removed from supervision of an employee he had allegedly sexually harassed. [53] Palin knew of Kopp's alleged sexual harassment before she appointed Kopp. [54]
Palin asserted that her dismissal of Monegan was unrelated to the fact that he had not fired Wooten, and asserts that Monegan was instead dismissed for not adequately filling state trooper vacancies, and because he "did not turn out to be a team player on budgeting issues."[55] Palin acknowledged that a member of her administration, Frank Bailey, did contact the Department of Public Safety regarding Wooten, but both Palin and Bailey say that happened without her knowledge and was unrelated to her dismissal of Monegan.[55] Bailey was put on leave for two months for acting outside the scope of his authority as the Director of Boards and Commissions. Commissioner Monegan received no severance pay, though at the same time another dismissed Commissioner, Charles Kopp (who served only 11 days) received $10,000.[56]
In response to Palin's statement that she had nothing to hide, in August 2008 the Alaska Legislature hired Steve Branchflower to investigate Palin and her staff for possible abuse of power surrounding the dismissal. The investigation is being overseen by Democratic State Senator Hollis French, who says that the Palin administration has been cooperating and thus subpoenas are unnecessary.[57] The Palin administration itself was the first to release an audiotape of Bailey making inquiries about the status of the Wooten investigation.[55][58]
She's a better looking woman than most contemporary Hollywood Celebs
She's quite hot compared to Hillary Klinton and all the wives of the other p/vp candidates. She's gun-totin' feminine and a NORMAL conservative White mother of five. Our only hope is that McCain's heart seizes some time like next February and Palin, the only remaining "wild card," can step up to the plate and focus on "majority rule."
Gov. Sarah Palin Was Second Choice in '84 Beauty Contest Friday August 29, 2008
Sarah Palin, runner-up, Miss Alaska, 1984:
..."Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president," the McCain campaign said in a statement Friday. "Governor Palin has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of. Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today."
I apologize for my previous anti-Palin remarks. She's a knockout, screw her politics.
tee hee, JT - now you're talking like a red blooded American male voter who has no dog in this Presidential race so why not go with your gut instinct?
Hey I'm NOT knocking your reasoning - indeed, Palin being a woman and a gorgeous woman at that is one of the several assets I said Palin would bring to McCain's ticket - she would appeal to undecided male and female voters - Palin was scrapper's VP pick long before Palin was even an idea in McCain's thick head.
You really don't want to get in a discussion, do you, with lamestream 'merikans over what is and isn't experience that can be used/useful in the Oral Office.......I know I wouldn't.
I think it was terribly dumb of the pow-hater to pick her. I was nearly yelling at my Mom when she told me who he had picked; I was ranting about the pow-hater losing any 'high ground' he had to stand on as it relates to calling BO 'light in the loafers'.
Oh well......AlGore had it right back in the early 90s====which should be up is down and what is down should be up! Or backwards and forwards==no, wait, maybe side to side. Oh hell, never mind, I'll look on his internet and see if I can/could/will/won't/or frankly don't give a shit find his ramblings.
Truthfully, she could walk on water and I wouldn't be voting for her because of the pow-hater who straddles the top of the ticket.
Like I said on the other thread, a VP pick usually means nothing, they have no real power except in the case of Cheney, who was chosen by Papa Bush and the GOP to be Junior's handler.
So McCain could have picked Ron Paul and it would have made no difference (except for the fact that I'd be disappointed with Ron Paul for accepting). PNAC's man is still the one in charge.
From wiki......with a lot of 'junk' just cut out to make this as short as possible......as it regards 'lack of experience':
"After four years in New York City, Obama moved to Chicago to work as a community organizer for three years from June 1985 to May 1988 as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Greater Roseland (Roseland, West Pullman, and Riverdale) on Chicago's far South Side. [11][13] During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from 1 to 13 and its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000, with accomplishments including helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization in Altgeld Gardens.[14]
Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute. WHOA! HERE BE A WHOLE NEW CAN OF WORMS MAYBE: GAMALIEL WAS THE JEWISH RABBI/SCRIBE THAT PAUL, THE APOSTLE TRAINED UNDER.[15] Obama entered Harvard Law School in late 1988 and at the end of his first year was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review based on his grades and a writing competition.[17] In his second year he was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in- chief and supervising the law review's staff of 80 editors.[18]
Obama directed Illinois Project Vote from April to October 1992, a voter registration drive with a staff of 10 and 700 volunteers that achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state, leading Crain's Chicago Business to name Obama to its 1993 list of "40 under Forty" powers to be.[21][22]
In 1993 Obama joined Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a 12-attorney law firm specializing in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate for three years from 1993 to 1996, then of counsel from 1996 to 2004, with his law license becoming inactive in 2002.[11][24]
Obama was a founding member of the board of directors of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife, Michelle, became the founding executive director of Public Allies Chicago in early 1993.[11][25]
He served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, which in 1985 had been the first foundation to fund Obama's DCP, from 19932002, and served on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation from 19942002.[11]
Obama served on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 19952002, as founding president and chairman of the board of directors from 19951999.[11] He also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, and the Lugenia Burns Hope Center".
Hopefully, she can succeed to the presidency in the next year.
If she really is a "conservative"--which is what they claim, and she is most assuredly pro life, it would be good if she could take McCain's place about the day after the election. Because it is a well-known fact that McCain is not a conservative. I don't understand why she would accept the job of being VP under McCain because if she really is a "Ron Paul independent" she has nothing in common with McCain.

Sarah is definitely the hottest candidate, ever, for V.P.
I believe she won a beauty contest in the early 80's and she looks like time has been kind to her. I was out today with some family and the restaurant where we ate had a TV on and it showed McCain getting ready to introduce her. And then she came on and made a speech but of course you couldn't hear it.

Seems like she was picked to put the evangelicals and pro lifers minds at ease. Really good, good reasons to pick a woman! Sheesh, they're generally known to rule with their hearts instead of their heads.
..."Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president," the McCain campaign said in a statement Friday. "Governor Palin has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of. Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today."
She is beautiful, smart, talented, honest, a Christian, and someone who would restore some honor to the office of v.p. Lord knows it needs it.
But lodwick, doesn't all that make you wonder why she would agree to be John McCain's running mate? I mean, unless she believes he is going to die the day after the election, in which case she becomes president. They can't have much in common (assuming that all that stuff about her is true).

For sure I couldn't vote for old POW hater and wait to see the old buzzard croak. With my luck, I'd be seein hell freeze over and that bastard still in the WH!!!!
Must have missed that. Ping to JD...he almost ripped my head off for suggesting there were McCain afficionados at 4UM.
So, there is one? And maybe four or five who support Obama? What that tells me is that very few of the people who post on this board are fans of any establishment whore. But I guess if you find a big enough crowd you can always find a few who "go along to get along."

William Ayers served with Obama on the board of the Woods Fund.
Yep. And the POW hater was best buds with a fella named Charles Keating-- something to do with savings and loans--and a number of other criminal-type senators.
Yes. With a caveat about your own homeland being invaded or attacked--not this gawd-awful bullshit 'preemptive' or 'terrorist' sort of crapola being shoveled out by the bucketloads nowadays.
