Politically, Palin was a smart pick for Mad Mac, and I'm sure his handlers approved. She'll get some idiot female Clinton voters who just want a woman in or near the white house, no matter what. She'll get some moron males who vote with their...well, you know. And she can't be critized by the Obummer Team for being inexperienced, because it's Pot-Kettle-Black. You can also be sure that if his handlers approved of her, she's all for neocon foreign policy.

If he wanted to have a chance a winning he would have picked Romney who has governor experience, business experience, international experience, all greater than Paulin's by orders of magnitude and he is as conservative, pro-Zio and imperialistic as she is or even more so. His staff surely knows this. McCain's decision will totally undermine the message his campaign was building - of McCain side being the 'mature, experienced, patriotic and reliable'. His choice, and it's with little doubt, his decision, shows him as a gambler that would risk every 'the country' to win. Listen to Paulin's speech. After calling McCain HER running mate, she's calling her VP picking 'an opportunity' and a 'challenge'. Quote: "Senator McCain gave me this opportunity, he had a short list of highly qualified men and women. And to have made that list at all, it was a privilege. And to have been chosen brings a great challenge." It's pretty scary. And, I have little doubt that McCain wants to win and that his staff want him to win - because they get the nice jobs if he wins.

the fact that Sara Palin is good looking doesn't alter the fact that she's a pro-war republican for starters. You make good points. She is a very nice looking woman but that, in and of itself, does not qualify anyone to be president. She sounds good on some other issues too but I have to wonder why she would accept the offer from McCain.

It is interesting to note that almost a year ago Palin was seriously discussed as a running mate for Ron Paul. That of course will not be enough to sway me to vote for either of the two parties. My vote has already been cast earlier this year. However, it will be the first time in awhile where the VP (who as we all know is a "heartbeat" away from the presidency) was preferable to the president. That's something fwiw. I think McCain will likely come in 2nd in the race to the bottom. Which means he will be the next ruler. Much to most everyone's dismay.

The ranks of "we" are getting pretty thin. Seems like half of the Ron Paul supporters on this site were sold on Obummer, the rest on Mad Mac's new postergirl.
I doubt that it's how the system works because it would be inefficient to have all these dark conspiracies behind everything. The system works by sheer inertia. You either go with the flow or you get crushed. Carter is one example. After him, the party people changed the rules to make sure that we don't get another one but, somehow, Obama slipped through, probably BECAUSE he was black and he could not be rejected as unceremoniously and as brutally as Ron Paul was. It's not clear what he'll become once he gets the job. He may give in and play ball or, maybe his more clever that most think and maybe he faked all these 'mainstream' positions and he may show his true face after he gets the job - think of Gorby.

Yes. And if Ron won the nomination I could have had someone to vote for. As it is I don't have anyone to vote for. I think this is the first presidential election since I have been eligible that I am even debating about even going to the polls at all. And if I do go it won't be to vote for president because if I heard correctly the Constitution Party didn't make it on the ballot here. Maybe I can vote for someone running for the House or something but I am not sure at this point if I will even bother.

Rupert... Dont cast me in either. The system is rotten to the core and total removal is the only answer. If one looks at Palin on strictly party grounds politics, McKooK has made a wise choice. Regardless of which loser wins, America loses.

Nice clip but I would like to know where she stands on issues like the damnable Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act just to name a couple of police state measures that McCain supports wholeheartedly. If I could ask her two or three questions I would know if she actually believes in that oath they are all required to take. I know McCain doesn't, Bush doesn't and Obama doesn't.

He lost the GOP Pres candidacy to McCain because of his image and also his Mormon religion was not too popular with the evangelicals and the IsraelFirster zionists. Looking at this mess on a strictly backroom political affair.... What if McKooK says, if elected he will ask Hillary to accept a high level post in his cabinet??????? Mind you, not offer, but would ASK after the election, no commitment from himself or Hillary prior. For dirty politics that would put a slug on Congo Obummer and BS Biden.
We should give it a break. SP will be interviewed and grilled on all the questions that we've raised here. I hope that she measures up to the very highest of our hopes.

You don't have to set aside your principles, loddy, to go to the prom--whether the guy/gal is cute/ugly or can dance/not dance. TO run as second fiddler with a guy that is as pro war/killing as you can get, believes every illegal alien has a right to be in this country at the local taxpayers' expense, yada yada, would mean that she has to l) agree with him OR 2) be a hypocrit by setting aside what she really believes in. We don't need anymore hypocrits running the shop, either. :( If she was so enamoured of ROn Paul and his positions, it would appear that #2 above is just as viable as #1......and I, for one, wouldn't consider voting for the person. Period. There have to be some values/principles which cannot be set aside, IMO, cause if you don't stand for some thing, you will stand for anything.
I hope that he's not that stupid. Anything that would get the bents close to the Oral Office is just insanity.

She has publicly complained about fellow Republicans' unethical behavior and references Alaska's Constitution whenever she speaks. Considered a maverick in the GOP, she goes around saying things like: "Fiscally speaking, the private sector can do a better job than government can do." and "Also just trusting individuals to make wise decisions for themselves and families.
