I had the opportunity today to witness a historic event. I was at the Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio when John McCain announced his running mate to the world. He chose Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. The place was packed. The crowd was enthusiastic. McCain was tied up in traffic on interstate 675 so he arrived a little late. There was rock music playing to warm up the crowd. When John Mccain came out the crowd gave him a very loud applause that lasted for about 5 minutes before he was able to speak. McCain spoke briefly before announcing that he had chosen a woman. He mentioned something about her being a union member, a mother, and some other things. The crowd grew enthusiastic as they knew it was a woman nominee. She came on the stage and was cheered. She gave a speech that was also well received. Here are some of the pics I captured today.

Thanks for figuring out how to post the photos.

The camera loves Palin's face, there's no doubt about it. Compare her to Michelle Obama's angry face or Biden's wife with bleach blonde hair and aging wrinkles. While I realize that I am pointing to superficial assets - ie. natural beauty - nonetheless, these are things that everyone relates to in forming first impressions - and based on this, Sarah Palin brings a ton of happy face good vibes to McCain's otherwise boring dreary geezer Beltway ticket. And let's not forget the effect of seeing the little girl protectively hanging onto Mama with all her 8 year old adoration and her concern about the crowds who want to share her Mama - too precious for words.

Sarah Palin was a brilliant choice by the McCain campaign. Absolutely, no doubt about it. And even if MSM tries to deep 6 any publicity about Palin, if only 1 single photo of Palin graces American teevee screens, Palin comes across as the Girl Next Door. Slam dunk. Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden lose.

I would have to agree. When he first started talking about it being a female as he said she was a mother etc. I didn't think I was going to like her. But seeing her in person up close with her family. I liked her. The little I have read about her I also like. I think I like her the best out of the bunch (president and vice president candidates).

I also ran into congressman Mike Turner. I asked him if he would support a new 911 investigation. He didn't hear me clealy at first. He said that he supports the 911 commission findings. Then I asked him again. He seemed agitated and walked away.

Great pics of the event - thanks.

I like 'fat guy' - No Bama and the water, and 9.11 protestors.

Sad that Turner is still in denial, or whatever is his problem with the 'official' story.

A nation of idiots, ruled by moronic tyrants.

He is still a relatively new congressman. I called his office before and he actually got back to me with a persnoal letter. He is at least against amnesty. I think for some people who love this country they just find it to hard to believe that our government would do some of the things that they do.
