. Quite a dream for most. I wonder why? Is it just because they do not wish to, or, is there more to it than that? I started a number of years ago to actively cleanse my life of most of the garbage in it. That happened AFTER I began reading the Bible and learned the principles by which we are commanded to live, if we are going to live in a manner that is pleasing to God and Jesus Christ. You should be able to fill in the blank about what happens if we do not live in a manner pleasing to those two. Romans 13; Let every soul (Or, every living person) be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. STOP!! Right there! Being in subjection to the superior authorities DOES NOT MEAN SERVING THEM!! Matthew 6:24; No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches (or, Mammon). (It is very instructive to read the rest of Matthew 6.) Romans 13:2; Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves. 3 For those ruling are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you, then, want to have no fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; 4 for it is Gods minister to you for your good. Bit if you are doing what is bad, be in fear: for it for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword; for it is Gods minister, an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad. How many people are in prison today, are dead, or have lost everything they owned because they did not heed this advice? The next paragraph is really important for those who wish to live peacefully in this world. 5 There is therefore compelling reason for you people to be in subjection, not only on account of that wrath but also on account of (your) conscience. 6 For that is why you are also paying taxes; for they are Gods public servants constantly serving this very purpose. 7 Render to all their dues, to him who (calls for) the tax, the tax; to him who (calls for) the tribute, the tribute; to him who (calls for) fear, such fear; to him who (calls for) honor, such honor. 8 Do not you people be owing anybody a single thing, except to love one another; for he that loves his fellowman has fulfilled (the) law. 9 For the (law code), You must not commit adultery; You must not murder; You must not steal, You must not covet, and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this word, namely, You must love your neighbor as yourself. 10 Love does not work evil to ones neighbor; therefore love is the laws fulfillment. STOP!! Now think this through, please. How many people have been murdered world wide by US soldiers in the last 110 years? I do not care what you believe about the justifications for those so-called wars, the simple truth is that millions have died, because US citizens served, both in the military, and in the government that produced those wars. And not a single enemy soldier has set foot on American soil in that period of time (Please do not bother to bring up Pearl Harbor; there has been enough posted in the 4um about how Roosevelt forced the Japanese to attack for anyone to understand what really happened). How many US Catholics have murdered other Catholics? How many US Lutherans have murdered other Lutherans? How many US Germans have murdered other Germans? Need I continue? And now, how many of you understand the term, Blood Guilt? Psalms 55:23; But you yourself, O God, will bring them down to the lowest pit. As for bloodguilty and deceitful men, they will not live out half their days. But as for me, I shall trust in you. What have you seen posted about those from the military who are committing suicide in ever increasing numbers? How about how many of them are slowly losing their minds? Need I mention how many of them have been killed, or, blown apart or burned so badly they can hardly bear to live? And this does not include the tens of thousands who have died or are sick from radiation and other poisoning from their service in Iraq. Romans 13:11; (Do) this, too, because you people know the season, that it is already the hour for you to awake from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than at the time when we became believers. 12 The night is well along; the day has drawn near. Let us therefore put off the works belonging to darkness and let us put on the weapons of the light. 13 As in the daytime let us walk decently, not in revelries and drunken bouts, not in illicit intercourse and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not be planning ahead for the desires of the flesh. Romans 13 is particularly relative now, if you understand the timeline for Judgment Day that is detailed in the Bible. That timeline states pretty clearly that Jesus Christ ascended to his earthly throne and that Satan was cast out of Heaven and down to the earth sometime in 1914. That makes sense, given how nuts the world went then, and how nuts it has continued throughout the following years. Even earthly historians note how badly things changed in 1914. As an example, there have been more than 200 wars since then, and at least 100 million people have died in those wars. Plus, another 200 million have been murdered by their own governments since that fateful year. Revelation 1:1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented (it) in signs through him to his slave John, 2 who bore witness to the word God gave and to the witness Jesus Christ gave, even to all the things he saw. All of Revelation is an interesting and important study, but in Revelation, this is an interesting statement; slaves the things that must shortly take place If you understand what is said in the Bible about the dead, and how they sleep in their graves, with no thoughts, until Resurrection (WHAT!? No immortal soul?! we will cover this shortly in another post), then this statement refers to ALL who have ever lived in that shortly, all will die, and what does your strife on this earth amount to then, if in that strife, you have lost the promises made by Jehovah as regards everlasting life? We live for such a very short time on this earth, and believe me, at my age, I understand very well how short is that time. Why would we waste that time, and risk losing all? To those who are resurrected, it will seem as if only a night has passed. To everyone
. EVERYONE!! Who has EVER lived it will seem the things that must shortly take place occurred the day after they passed away, so the statement is a true statement for everyone who has lived since the time that the Christ walked the earth (actually, to all who have ever lived and who will be resurrected from the memory of Jehovah). BUT, if you understand Judgment Day, those who are alive at that time will be judged immediately, and while many who lived before 1914 will have died in ignorance, and will be resurrected, those who are found alive and wanting in the Day of Jehovah will not be! They will simply be cut-off for all time. One of the signs pertaining to the end of this earthly system is the great numbers of people who will be searching for Him. This is happening world wide. This makes Romans 13 very relative now, and it makes Matthew 6:24 even more important; you can not serve two masters. Remember that, when you go to vote in your masters system. Note please, that this does not mean that the millions of people murdered by their own governments or other governments deserved to die. What it does mean is that those who did the killing have earned their judgment, and the earthly lives of those murdered was shortened needlessly. Which do you think will be resurrected, and which will not, or, will be resurrected only for service of judgment? And which group would you rather be in? That is the decision that we all are making in our daily lives, and in how we live and worship Him and Jesus Christ. Remember this, please; the Bible is a manual of responsibility, and we will be judged in how we lived, how we worshipped and how we learned and repented, or not.

Didn't Jesus tell one of his disciples to take a sword with him? Also on turning the other cheek. Do you just have to turn it once or take multiple blows?
Luke 22:36

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
