MINNEAPOLIS -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today met with the board of directors of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, NBC/NJ has confirmed.

The meeting took place inside Palin's hotel, sources said.

A campaign official would not say who asked for the meeting, but said it was geared towards putting the American Jewish community at ease over her understanding of US-Middle East relations.

"That's obviously going to be an issue," the aide said. "It's not like being the senator from New York, obviously. But these aren't issues that are off her radar."

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said. "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration."

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.

Abraham would be terribly disappointed with your round heels.

To say that I'm 'disappointed' would be the understatement of the century.

AIPAC has now succeeded in getting to all R and D candidates.

AIPAC has now succeeded in getting to all R and D candidates.

Only Third Party candidates like Buchanan, Nader, and Perot seem to be immune. Of these, only Perot could buck the system a little because he had his own billions to spend, plus a strange friendship with Larry King that gave him unlimited CNN time in '92.

It's really too disgusting for words, so I'll just shut-up, and go do some laundry or something.

Jim, I hope you didn't think I was slinging arrows your way---I only scrolled quickly down the list of posters and saw your name. Didn't bother to read comments or anything--I just knew there'd be a blood letting because of the initials AIPAC being stuck in an article with her name.

They've not let her near journalists so far as I can tell, so anything coming out of the article had to be from the pow hater's staff or from the AIPAC staff.

And it would have to be a terribly stupd blunder to refuse to meet with a legit organization, whether you believe in them or not.

There is no crime in courtesy. That is one of the reasons I like Ron Paul so much--he is a gentleman even as he gets his points across. His smackdown of Rudy in the debate was a gem of a 'keeper'...Rudy got put down with facts, not with a snide laugh or some stupid 8 second sound byte.

I think everyone, including myself, need to get over the idea that there is a perfect candidate. There isn't--beecause while I agree with you 90% of the time, its no doubt the 10% difference that is going to cause friction because it might be a part of the 90% of stuff that I *ahem* agree with Cynicom on, while our difference of 10% probably gravels the gut of Rotara, or angle, blah blah.

Cyni, Rotara, angle--I only ping ya to my comments because I used your names. I'm merely trying to let loddy know I wasn't picking on anything he had said or done.

rowdy...

Many long years ago, I was told this....

The people cannot nor will not revolt in this country until such time as a large segment comes to realize that the GOVERNMENT is the enemy. All else is meaningless, parties, liberals, conservatives, pro or con anything, all of that is window dressing.

Fortunately here on 4um we do have a small group that has come to that realization.
