MINNEAPOLIS -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today met with the board of directors of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, NBC/NJ has confirmed.

The meeting took place inside Palin's hotel, sources said.

A campaign official would not say who asked for the meeting, but said it was geared towards putting the American Jewish community at ease over her understanding of US-Middle East relations.

"That's obviously going to be an issue," the aide said. "It's not like being the senator from New York, obviously. But these aren't issues that are off her radar."

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said. "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration."

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.

Abraham would be terribly disappointed with your round heels.

To say that I'm 'disappointed' would be the understatement of the century.

AIPAC has now succeeded in getting to all R and D candidates.

Wouldn't it have just been great for all the nations newspapers, NPR, and the internet blogs to blast headlines something like: PALIN REFUSES TO MEET WITH JEWS. Thats as silly/stupid as whining that Ron Paul doesn't come out a start raving maniac over 911 Truthers!

Such a breath of fresh air.

Such a losing stratergery.

This is such a crock of shit whine by people who would cut their friggin nose off to spite their face. No doubt the whiners are convinced that a third party candidate can win just by showing up.

There. Now I'll read the article and the comments to see just who I am going to piss off.

No offense, but the Palin fans are no different from the Obamaites.

Saint Obama licks the boots of AIPAC, you guys criticize him, the Obamaites ignore it or spin it.

Trophy Prop Sarah licks the boots of AIPAC, the Obamaites criticize her, you fanboys ignore it or spin it.

Seems to me, if I can point out the flaws in one, I can do the same with the other, no?

I don't take offense.

Thus far, there's not been a word out of HER mouth regarding this meeting==everything has come from HIS people or da PAC peeple. We just went thru a jig about her being a grandma when she wasn't--tons of action/overaction to that.

I don't have much of a problem--yet--with the lady........but I still have not planned nor do I plan to nor will I vote for the pow hater who sits atop the ticket. Even if Jesus Christ was on the bottom of the ticket, I woulnd't be voting for it because of that very same bad person being at the top.

So, neither she nor BO can be asserted to by 'my' anything. I hate neiter because I know neither; that doesn't mean I endorse them.

Furthermore, if she's in the party very long in DC she will become as rotten as the rest--or she'll see the light and get the hell outta Dodge, as they say.

I apologize for presuming that you've been sold on voting for McCain. The point you make is something people miss: McCain will still be President, no matter who he picks for VP. And McCain is so rotten, even a good VP pick would only reflect badly on the VP instead of reflecting well on him. If Ron Paul were his VP choice, that would lower my opinion of RP rather than raising my opinion of McCain.

I don't know what she said there either, but in her VP acceptance speech, she basically went on with the typical neocon bullshit about the war on terror, the threat of Iran, etc. Chances are she said the same things to AIPAC. That was more than enough for me to write her off.

We sure think alike re Ron Paul.....had he agreed to run as VP, my opinion of him would have hit the gutter.

McCain has asked Ron Paul for his endorsement. I hope that Paul doesn't sell out like Buchanan sold out when he endorsed Dumbya in '04.

If he endorses, I wash my hands of Ron Paul. That was one of my problems with PJB. "If they're so damned bad and corruptible, why are you giving your approval of them?" Geeze......

Reread the Trotsky memo any time you are in doubt.

A neutral stance by Paul is an endorsement of McKooK.

If Paul wants to make a statement that there are no good candidates, I will send him plane fare back to TX.
