MINNEAPOLIS -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today met with the board of directors of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, NBC/NJ has confirmed.

The meeting took place inside Palin's hotel, sources said.

A campaign official would not say who asked for the meeting, but said it was geared towards putting the American Jewish community at ease over her understanding of US-Middle East relations.

"That's obviously going to be an issue," the aide said. "It's not like being the senator from New York, obviously. But these aren't issues that are off her radar."

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said. "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration."

Either candidate is safe for the zionist to vote for:

Biden, the Democratic nominee for vice president, was introduced by a Holocaust survivor at a speech before several hundred at a retirement community, The Associated Press reported.

"...Biden also urged his audience to ignore Internet rumors that Obama is secretly a Muslim, calling the rumors "scurrilous."

"By any objective fact, Israel is less secure today in the world than it was eight years ago," Biden said. "I promise you ... we will make it more secure."

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said.

Well, there you have it.

And then there is this:

... "It hasn’t been easy to find anything about Sarah Palin’s positions on foreign policy issues, but this clip from a speech to her church gives a clue:

“Pray for our military. He [Palin's son] is going to be deployed in September to Iraq – pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right for this country – that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God, that’s what he have to make sure we are praying for, that there is a plan and that it is God’s plan.” (about 6 min into the clip)" ...

Only Third Party candidates like Buchanan, Nader, and Perot seem to be immune. Of these, only Perot could buck the system a little because he had his own billions to spend, plus a strange friendship with Larry King that gave him unlimited CNN time in '92.

Sounds to me like the spinning language provided when two countrys leaders get together and yak, i.e., Puttie Pute and the Dipshit. Seeing as how none of them know her inner workings/beings, they are making assumptions based on a short meeting with a multitude of people.

Thus far, there's not been a word out of HER mouth regarding this meeting==everything has come from HIS people or da PAC peeple. We just went thru a jig about her being a grandma when she wasn't--tons of action/overaction to that.

I don't have much of a problem--yet--with the lady........but I still have not planned nor do I plan to nor will I vote for the pow hater who sits atop the ticket. Even if Jesus Christ was on the bottom of the ticket, I woulnd't be voting for it because of that very same bad person being at the top.

So, neither she nor BO can be asserted to by 'my' anything. I hate neiter because I know neither; that doesn't mean I endorse them.

Furthermore, if she's in the party very long in DC she will become as rotten as the rest--or she'll see the light and get the hell outta Dodge, as they say.

Could any of us from 4um have a snowball's-chance-in-hell of winning a congressional seat by coming out and telling the local ADL "committee" "No thanks, I'm not interested in meeting with you."?? Our local newspaper would have an editorial cartoon of us dancing with Adolph Hitler the very next morning while the whole editorial board would have a special insert decrying our obvious desire to run roughshod over jews and gays/blacks/women/children.

How did AIPAC, a foreign lobby, acquire it's power to influence our domestic politics in such a short span of history??? Further, how do we put an end to the meddling of Israel and turn off the money-spigot to that nation???

I apologize for presuming that you've been sold on voting for McCain. The point you make is something people miss: McCain will still be President, no matter who he picks for VP. And McCain is so rotten, even a good VP pick would only reflect badly on the VP instead of reflecting well on him. If Ron Paul were his VP choice, that would lower my opinion of RP rather than raising my opinion of McCain.

I don't know what she said there either, but in her VP acceptance speech, she basically went on with the typical neocon bullshit about the war on terror, the threat of Iran, etc. Chances are she said the same things to AIPAC. That was more than enough for me to write her off.

Jim, I hope you didn't think I was slinging arrows your way---I only scrolled quickly down the list of posters and saw your name. Didn't bother to read comments or anything--I just knew there'd be a blood letting because of the initials AIPAC being stuck in an article with her name.

They've not let her near journalists so far as I can tell, so anything coming out of the article had to be from the pow hater's staff or from the AIPAC staff.

And it would have to be a terribly stupd blunder to refuse to meet with a legit organization, whether you believe in them or not.

There is no crime in courtesy. That is one of the reasons I like Ron Paul so much--he is a gentleman even as he gets his points across. His smackdown of Rudy in the debate was a gem of a 'keeper'...Rudy got put down with facts, not with a snide laugh or some stupid 8 second sound byte.

I think everyone, including myself, need to get over the idea that there is a perfect candidate. There isn't--beecause while I agree with you 90% of the time, its no doubt the 10% difference that is going to cause friction because it might be a part of the 90% of stuff that I *ahem* agree with Cynicom on, while our difference of 10% probably gravels the gut of Rotara, or angle, blah blah.

Cyni, Rotara, angle--I only ping ya to my comments because I used your names. I'm merely trying to let loddy know I wasn't picking on anything he had said or done.

As long as you give people the illusion of freedom and choice, they're happy. If a political party wants to rule forever, all it has to do is split into "two" parties that take rurns running things every four years. I'm surprised no single party dictatorships have figured this trick out yet.

Many long years ago, I was told this....

The people cannot nor will not revolt in this country until such time as a large segment comes to realize that the GOVERNMENT is the enemy. All else is meaningless, parties, liberals, conservatives, pro or con anything, all of that is window dressing.

Fortunately here on 4um we do have a small group that has come to that realization.

You understand.

As it regards how they got power......because the sheeple are asleep at the wheel; the collective we have been piss poor citizens for the last umteen years. TOo busy trying to keep up with the Jones', too busy watching crap in television to take our minds off the other stuff in our life; allowed ourselves to be convinced we 'deserve' a little rest or respite from all the bullhocky of each day.

What can we do? For openers, we can pray. Many will laugh or pooh pooh the idea, but they can't provide a better starting point. BTW, thats another thing the nation has fallen away from--that's God.

I believe God uses people and nations for His purposes and reasons--and this could be a factor....one that we couldn't effect a change on regardless. I do believe though that just as Abraham pleaded that Sodom and Gomorrah not be completely obliterated because there was the chance some 'good' people were in them, that intercessory prayer can change some of the results.

Me, I believe the republic has survived about as long as it could...look at other empires that have all fallen away.

Along this same line, I have to laugh at these christians who think they can help bring the end about--as though God needs their help; as though they know when it should be, and how it should happen.

Some rambling thoughts there, but I doubt there is a solution at this point in time.

If he endorses, I wash my hands of Ron Paul. That was one of my problems with PJB. "If they're so damned bad and corruptible, why are you giving your approval of them?" Geeze......

Buchanan spent all of four years criticizing Dumbya on foreign policy and immigration, and then in the Fall of 2004 he writes a column begging his readers to vote for the guy. As if Bush were any better than Kerry or Gore.

But they aren't getting my vote.

We have had a meeting of the minds here among the boys.

You can attend IF you promise to write her name in as PRESIDENT????

That is our compromise and best offer.

Rupert...I have to make light of this because it is a damned sad affair. Americans have a choice, be shot or hung, before or after sunup. That is the sad part, the majority are busy deciding how to vote.

Chandra Levy's, Monica's, who knows how many other honey-pot operations. If that doesn't work, just buy'em.

That explains the pols. It doesn't explain the masses.

The pols are not your enemy -- precisely because they can be bought, and will turn when the wind turns.

Charges of "racism" and "anti-semitism" are just modern witch huntings and burnings. It is whites' combined propensities for hysteria, moral thinking, and competition that has enabled the formation of this self-destructive vortex.

Reread the Trotsky memo any time you are in doubt.

A neutral stance by Paul is an endorsement of McKooK.

If Paul wants to make a statement that there are no good candidates, I will send him plane fare back to TX.

Ron Paul got 10-15% of the GOP vote in many states. Those are votes that Mad Mac needs if he's to win in November. Part of the Palin pick was to win over some Hillary voters who want a woman in the White House, the other part of it was to create a "Ron Paul Supporters for McCain" group. That's the main reason Palin praised Ron Paul and claimed to be one of his supporters, even as she signed onto Mad Dog's agenda.

I wonder how many RP supporters will take the bait.

Buchanan agreed with Dumbya on some issues other than foreign policy. That's my best guess.

Not this one. And I can't tell you how disappointed I would be if Ron endorsed McCain (not that I think that is going to happen).

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.
