Question of the day Let's say, you consider yourself a righteous, red-blooded, patriotic American and let's assume that you are so. In fact, the word of your righteousness spread and McCain invites you to join him as his running mate. Knowing exactly what that meant: throwing away all your principles and turning into a McCain surrogate, defending McCain views that you used to oppose, having to read speeches written by McCain speech writers, etc., etc. Would you accept McCain's invitation? I assume that the answer is 'no' because no righteous, red-blooded, patriotic American would agree to help McCain gain access to the nuclear buttons, among other things. Now, here's the question: what do you think of Sarah's enthusiastic embrace of McCain? Place it within the context of your rejection of such an offer.

The question is not about the teams but about what you think about Sarah joining the team. I read many posts at this site by contributors praising Sarah for her righteousness and promising to support McCain because Sarah is on his side. So the question was: what do you think of Sarah (not of McCain's team), now that she's on McCain's side?

Okay, now, the GOPs are screaming You Ess Hey, You Ess, Hey. This is very uplifting. More Romney quotables: he doesn't want our high schools to be places of promiscuity (hmmm...). It looks like the most impressive thing that he ever did was when the Vietkongs offered to release him ahead of those who were caught before him his decided to actually wait for his turn, AS HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO. Apparently, this normal behavior was a very difficult decision for him to make. He was tormented, etc., etc. In other words, at least once in his life, he was not a crook and that surprised him so much... even now he can hardly believe it he did that.

Have you noticed that they, at least in the current convention--don't know bout the dems cause I didn't see any of them--, that they gotta play loud stupid music sounds while the sheeple sound like and act like dolts. Well, I'd actually go along with that so long as ONLY landowners could vote--at any level of gubmint.....with landowners including wimmen.

In todays world what would be more fair is one would need to take a test much like a drivers license except this test would be on the constitution and bill of rights,however based on the fact this would be to tough for the average American it will never come to be

Why should the non-landed be able to 'sock it to' the landowners? Ever heard my story about a guy that owns 1,000 acres. Sells 10 to his brother. At voting time, their votes offset each other. Brother gets mad at the older brother so he sells off 5 acres to his best friend, who drinks like a fish. He convines the buddy to vote as he does.......they saddled the bigger landowner with a huge debt (for schools or infrastructure or whatever), then they sell out to someone else and take off for parts unknown. Older bro then has to sell off in order to get out from under the taxes he has to pay because of the brother and his drinking buddy. No land, no vote. At least not in my perfect world.
Naw, then you drop a second provision in. You only get to vote on taxes you will be paying. Think cigarette taxes would ever go up? Property taxes? Excise taxes on liquor? An evil idea, I know, but it lets people volunteer to open their wallets, which is as it should be.

I would not turn down the offer, under the currents events.. John is 72, has has 4 goes with cancer.. So the VP will have greater power, either now or in the near future.. I would smile at John and as soon as he goes, and I take over.. Look out assholes, the wish to take down my country.. As no matter what was done in the mean time to America.. I would pull all stops to un-do it.. (and most likely die doing it) But I know that there would be one to take my place (as I would have my choice of veep), once the shit hits the fan..
This is a very sensible decision and this is what most people do. This is how corruption begins and this is only the first step. I saw former good friends of mine beginning to walk on that path and there was no way to backtrack later and there was no way they could stop.

I'd have to tell McCain that he gets ALL of my political convictions if he wants me. But then, he wouldn't invite me to be his running mate in the first place because he'd already know that I'm a stubborn individualist. Maybe Sarah Palin feels she can make a small difference in D.C. with her independent streak???

I want to clarify this, because it's probably important. I am suggesting DUMBO or TONTO not because I wish to hurt your feelings but because I believe those would be fair names for you. It is so, in my humble opinion, because, you seem to be too dumb to participate in a discussion on just about any topic without immediately replying with some kind of personal 'attack' or attempt to label the other party in some stupid way. Or, alternatively, you use some broken-record-like affirmation of certain stupid and tired 'ideas' such as 'it's all the same', 'nothing ever changes' or... wait, I believe that's it.
