My experience with people who own pit bulls is that they have attitude problems, and excuse pit's behavior with "It's not the pit; it's the owner." I have never believed that. My nephew is watching a pit bull that has bitten two kids. Not bad, more like a nip, but enough to put the dog down. The dog is nice around my nephew. I handed my nephew some money, the dog leaped out of his lap, up in the air, and bit my right bicep. I now have a round bruise there, along with two punctures. The dog has had his shots, fortunately. I will post a photo tomorrow, after the bruise has turned nice and black.

Me neither.
You bought The Battle of New Orleans. That dog has now bitten three people, two kids and one adult. All three attacks were out of the blue. All pits can be euthanized for all I care.

"Satan / Cheney in "08" My brother had a female pit bull. Never a problem. I worked with a guy that fought pit bull's at one time. His breeding bitch was very "sweet;" she mouthed my hand the first time that we met (she liked me; seems to be a trait of the breed). I have no doubt that some pit bulls are bread for aggressiveness and the "extra" pups are sold to unsuspecting buyers to finance the fighters. I did some searching on Google for my now dead dog, a Malamute/German Shepard mix, with Malamute predominate. It was interesting to see a divergence in the "studies," ie, one study seemed to see that purebreds more dangerous while another saw mixes as more dangerous. Most interesting was the mix of two "dangerous" purebreds where near the bottom of fatalities and attacks. As for why your nephew's pit bull attacked you and others, I can't say. I agree that this animal need to be "put-down."
