Barack Obama's Wife's Cousin Is a "Black Hebrews" Rabbi by Aryeh Haffner (IsraelNN.com) Barack Obama's wife’s cousin is a Rabbi, according to the Jewish magazine Forward. Michelle Obama's first cousin once removed, Capers Funnye, shepherds the flock at a mostly black Israelite synagogue on Chicago’s South Side, the Beth Shalom B’nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew synagogue. The Black Israelite congregations, often called Black Hebrews, are a very small and mostly separate stream from mainstream Judaism and are not recognized as Jews by the Chief Rabbanite of Israel. Although Rabbi Funnye's congregation refers to itself as Ethiopian Hebrew, it is not connected to the Ethiopian Jews who have immigrated to Israel en masse in past decades and are recognized as Jews by the Israel Chief Rabbanite. Forward reports that Rabbi Funnye’s mother, Verdelle Robinson Funnye (pronounced fuh-NAY), and Mrs. Obama's paternal grandfather, Frasier Robinson Jr., were sister and brother. Rabbi Funnye converted to Judaism in a ceremony supervised by the Black Israelite rabbis. He later underwent another conversion procedure, reportedly supervised by Orthodox and Conservative rabbis. He has a Black Israelite ordination. this might energize the Hagee flocks.

Black Israelites are just the Afro version of Christian Identity (the people who go around saying that white Europeans are the real Israelites). I guess suppose makes Nation of Islam a Black Muslim Identity organization - don't they go around pretending Mohammed was black?

Actually he was a con man from Samoa who convinced Blacks in Chicago he was God. He then got their money and left. He copied the black power message from Marcus Garvey along with the Nazi and fascist talk of the day into a package that was attractive to negroes (as they were then called) who felt powerless and were (and this is key) angry and hateful of whites who they felt oppressed them. This is of course the same reason the Christian Identity neo nazi types find recruits as well. Real Muslims were shocked when confronted with this Nation of Islam crap (and its many splinter groups like the 5%ers). Exposure to real Islam stole some of the thunder from this cult movement and now it exists as sort of on the fringes with lots of little violent offshoots made up of blacks who think this will give their life direction and strength. If Hitler was born a black man he would have joined the Nation of Islam for the same reasons he joined the Nazi party.
